___________________________________Alex and Jame left the police station in silence. She was dying to know what Blake saw in James's head. The man was left in tears when they left the place. Was James's past really that sad? And what he said... "You killed her." Who was he talking about? Alex looked at the side of James's face, staring at his short hair, wondering what was going through his head at that very moment.
“So... What was that in there?”
“It was nothing, leave it alone.”
“It didn't sound like nothing back there.”
James raised his voice unintentionally. He appreciated his girlfriend’s concern for his wellbeing, but at that moment it was unnecessary, and unwanted. There were certain things that were not open for discussion even for her.
“I said it’s nothing!”
Alex stared at James in awe, he had never raised his voice with her before, except for that time when she was suffering from her PTSD at her apartment. She backed away and looked to the ground, apologizing after doing so.
“No, I’m sorry... I shouldn’t have yelled...”
Alex nodded and continued walking as James followed. After a few minutes of silence Alex skipped her way in front of James and turned around, stopping him in his tracks.
“Eh... What is this? *chuckle*”
“Hmm?”
“The skipping.”
Alex ignored James and gave him the strongest hug she could give, in hopes of making him feel better.
“You don’t have to tell me what you don't want to, ok? Just know that I'm here if you ever need to talk about anything, alright?”
“Yeah... Alright.”
After that, Alex turned around and raised both her arms above her head.
“Ok then! Let’s get the stuff for Christmas, and forget about the negative stuff for now!”
“Wait, what? Christmas? Why?”
“W-What do you mean, "Why?!" ”
“I just don’t really think it’s that important. It's too much of a hassle to go to these parties that we get invited to and I still don’t understand the reason for putting a tree in the living room.”
“No! We are going to Mr. Eric's party, there's no escaping that one! As for the tree, it's not mandatory. Besides, Eva will be expecting us.”
“Eh... C’mon. Really, gorgeous?”
“Yup, and that's final.”
“Do we really have to go?”
“Do you want that Christmas blowjob we talked about?”
“Fine, fine, we'll go haha.”
“That's what I thought.”
Alex skipped all the way home, seemingly excited for something James didn’t know of. When Alex opened the door to James’s apartment he finally asked her the question.
“What’s with you all of a sudd-“
Alex closed the small gap between her and James, giving him one deep kiss.
“I’m gonna prepare something for tonight, you get some rest ok?”
“Where are you going?”
“Gonna buy food for tonight, and maybe lunch.”
“You don’t have to go alo-“
“Apupupup, shh. I don’t wanna hear it, be a good boy and stay here.”
“He’s still out ther-”
“Shush! Stay here and rest, I’m going alone, end of story.”
“But-”
Before James could continue, Alex closed the door to their apartment and he was left there alone deciding whether or not to go after his girlfriend or not. James sat on the couch and took a deep breath. He WAS remembering everything after all! The screams, the murders, the senseless violence of his past, and all the grief that came with it.
It wasn't easy but James managed to fall asleep on the couch. By the time he woke up, Alex had already arrived home with two bags full of groceries. She placed them on the table and went to James's side by the couch and slowly leaned in.
“*Whispers* I’m home, baby. *kisses James’s cheek*”
“Hey, gorgeous. *Yawn*”
Seeing James so vulnerable in his current state led Alex to think of some very inappropriate things to do. She did so and climbed on the couch, straddling James’ hips and leaning in to nibble at his ear. When she heard him chuckle, she was satisfied. But was that really what James needed then?
“Umm.. I-I’m sorry! *Sits up*”
“Hmm? For what?”
“I’m being inconsiderate... I mean, with everything that's happened to you lately I'm not sure this is the best thing to be doing.”
“Are you kidding?”
James sat up, causing Alex to fall on her back and let out a cute noise. James smiled as he slowly crawled on top of Alex, kissing his way up. Despite the clothes, Alex could feel his kisses none the less.
“Mmm... James...”
“This is exactly what I need, beautiful. Being as close to you as possible, having you in my arms. It’s a very pleasant feeling... I wouldn’t trade it for the world.”
At that point, Alex’s eyes started watering a little. She was touched by James words. If Alex was honest, this was the only time she’s ever felt so loved by someone. Not once before was she shown so much raw love. She knew for a fact that James wasn't just saying these words to get in her pants. She knew that his love for her was unconditional.
“You ok, gorgeous?”
Alex didn’t say anything, instead, she slowly wrapped her arms around James’ neck. He got the point and just laid there on top of her, using her soft breasts as pillows.
“I love you... So much.”
“Hehe, I love you too, gor-“
Alex jumped at the sound of her phone ringing, letting out a very annoyed sigh. Someone just had to interrupt their intimate moment. But as a graphic designer, it’s not smart to ignore any calls. You never know who it is and you could lose your job. When she answered the call, Alex was shocked to hear who was on the other side of the line.
“Hey there! How’s my favorite ace?”
“Coach??!”
James stared in confusion, “coach?” He thought to himself. He sat up in silence, waiting for Alex to end the call and explain what was going on.
“Umm... Alright. It's a little out of the blue but I’ll think about it. *hangs up*”
“What was that about?”
“You wouldn’t believe me if I told you.”
