Alex’s POV
“Y-you heard?” I asked, my voice weak, like I forgot how to speak.
The four of them nodded.
“What do you think genius?” Addison asked confidently.
Okay, one thing’s for sure, I hate this girl so much! She’s everything that I hate combined! Who does she think she is? She’s a pain in the neck and I cannot live with her. So far, so bad, as I always say.
If anything, the only moment that made me happy that day was when my co-thief, Jonathan who is currently at Paris, France, called to say that he had a two hundred pound weight of diamonds. Can you believe it? He stole a lot of diamonds! It was a shame I had to give him the diamonds. Well, it was enough to pay him back for all his hard work.
“So, diamonds, huh?” Addison added. “What a wonderful thing to steal?”
“Okay, can you, Alex and whatever may be your last name…” Coleen said.
I interrupted, “It’s Chase”.
“Okay, Chase…” she continues. She is one heck of a weird dude. “Would you mind telling us who the heck you are?” I wasn’t expecting anything like what she does next but she like gets up and gets me taunted. “Now, tell me straight”, she then pushes me and I step back. “Tell us, right now”.
I step back.
“Speak now”.
I step back again.
“I said, speak!”
I’m cornered against a wall. Ugh, great, I’m doomed. So, I guess I’ll have to tell them the truth? No, I can’t do that. Besides, who trusts a criminal anyway?
“Alright, I’m talking!” I yelled at her and pushed her back. “I’m talking for crying out loud!”
I push her again and got out of my position on my wall and head down to my window. I like to watch the limited spaces for groves of trees in New York. My right arm was around my right leg, the other arm relaxed and the other leg stretched on the comfy cushions.
“Give me what you got”, I said, my eyes still busy staring out the window. The cars passed on every road. I couldn’t see any traffic so far. “I’ll try my best to answer, if I can”.
“I’ll start off”, Addison asked. “What’s your name, for real?”
“I can’t answer that”.
“How come you can’t answer that?”
“I can’t answer that right now”.
“Oh, but promise us you’ll tell us by the right time?”
“Um, probably, I could”.
“My turn, guys”, Izzy said. “Okay, first of all, Coleen’s been complaining how hard you push her. What’s up with that?”
“Ugh, yeah, Alex that really hurt. You can push a guy to hard!” Coleen complained for the last time. Ugh, shut up, girls. You’re all very pretty! Now, mind yourselves and leave the Ugly Ones, particularly me, some privacy and space!
Here we go, answer it, now, Alex. Answer it, now. You’re not stupid, are you?
“My body’s made up of metal”, I admitted. I didn’t lie. My bones are metal, so my organs are completely protected.
“You’re kidding me, aren’t you?” Addison asked.
“I’m not lying, I’m not kidding, but I’m just telling the truth!”
