Izzy’s POV
We found out Alex’s real name, already. It was Alexandria. Well, I’ll have to admit, it was an impressive and pretty name and the only thing is that Alex is too ashamed to tell us sooner.
“Well, I can’t argue with that anymore”, Alex said, her hands crossed but she was luckily smirking at us.
A cockroach was running towards me.
I screamed.
“Cockroach…!” Coleen repeated.
“Don’t worry, guys, I got this under control”, Alex ran over to the cockroach and squished it under her fabulous black combat boots. “It was just a cockroach, for crying out loud”.
“Hey, it was creepy, okay?”
“Whatever”.
An unfamiliar voice echoed through the dark rooms. “Who goes there?”
Alex winced and ran with us to the back of the house. It was an overgrown garden. The bushes were taller than us and vines were hanging from the green translucent roof. It was like a tunnel with lots of green plants. It was amazing at the thought of it so far.
We kept walking and I heard Alex shout, “Abriel, is that you?”
Standing in front of us was a good-looking boy, about the age of fifteen with dark brown hair and grey eyes wearing beige pants and a long sleeved blue button-down top. “Alex…?”
“Abriel, is it you!”
Alex and the guy named Abriel, I think, hugged each other for three seconds. “Alex, is that really you?”
Alex was too happy to speak and she just nodded for response.
“I thought I’d never see you again!”
“I wish I never left you that day!”
“So, what happened?”
“I was stuck in a comatose for years… and I’m just so glad to see you!”
They hugged again.
“Okay, Alex, would you mind introducing who is he?” I asked.
“He’s Abriel, my one and only brother”.
“You have a brother?”
“Isn’t it obvious?”
I haven’t seen her smile like this for years. She was just so happy to see her lost brother.
“Well, nice to meet you, Abriel”, Courtney gladly smiled.
“You guys came the wrong timing. I was just here to visit Mom”, Abriel said.
Alex faced the ground. “Oh, hi, Mom…”
“So, I’m gonna go, now, sis”.
“Where are you going?”
“I’m going back to Florida”.
“Visit me some time in New York, okay, bro?”
“Of course, sis… Oh, and, can I borrow a few bucks?”
“Just get as much as you want from the cabinet”.
“Thanks, sis and I’ll see you some other day”, he kissed Alex’s forehead.
“Okay, bye, already”, Alex cupped his cheek and pushed him away.
Abriel ended up with a chuckle and left the garden, scratching his ear.
