Courtney’s POV
Yes, we’ve been captured by more intergalactic aliens and now, they’ve actually managed to capture us and put us into their spaceship. It’s not so fascinating when I say it. These beings will be our last. I think we’ll need a lot of help before time runs out. We seriously need it.
“Courtney, what are we going to do now?” Izzy asked me, her voice trying not to tremble. To be honest with you, I’m panicking inside. My brain is completely empty and I couldn’t think of a single plan. I’m such a loser. This mission depends on me now, but I’m supposed to be doing actions and not let the rest rot to dust. “Should we do something about this?”
“We have to”, Coleen spoke silently. I know how hard it feels knowing that we’re never getting out that ditch. And it was all because of me. “Courtney, please… Tell us what we have to do. I don’t want to die just yet. I have still so many plans in my life and… ugh, you’ll never understand how hard this is for me”.
I walked over to the metal bars. “All we need is a little science. I need a map of the ship. If only I could reach that piece of no good paper over there at the side…”
“Don’t worry, I got this”, Addison spoke as she reached out the bars and she was a finger away from the map. “I can do it… Just one more little eency weensy tiny small petite stretched out hand…”
She jerked her hand once more and we all heard ripped paper. “Oh dear, what was that?”
“Sorry”, Addison turned as she showed us the map with a ripped off edge. “It’s as far as I could ever reach”.
“No, it’s fine. The other part isn’t much important”, I took hold of the map and studied it. Actually, the edge we missed had something there but I know the exit now and the imprisonment area. We were quite far from it, but I’m sure we’ll make it without getting caught. I guarantee it.
Coleen winced. “Hey, Izzy does have the bombs, right? Why didn’t we come up to explode us out of here?”
“Coleen, do you want to die?” Izzy asked.
“Well, if there’s no more hope I would and if more people started hating me, sure, why not?”
“My bombs are far too powerful. Remember the train and my bombs… they exploded the rest of the trail”.
She put a finger on her lip and started to think. “My laser bracelet can help. We can make a hole through the floor and we’re home free”.
“We’re gonna get caught! And besides, we need to stay here and fight because I can’t risk the fact that aliens are now invading the planet!”
“But we can escape and then we can fight the aliens”.
I frowned. “No, Coleen, I’m completely sorry”, I didn’t move my eyes away from the map. “We can’t leave and go back to headquarters just yet. I know you want to get out of here and that’s what all of us feel. If we cut through the bars, the fire alarms might go on. If we cut through the floor, we might die. We might be in the outer space. Remember, the galaxy only has one planet with gravitational pull”.
She became speechless somehow. Was I really the cause of it? Look, if the earth blew up because of these intergalactic beings, I’m the one to be blamed for everything by making a plan with no effects or predicted answers and clearly, I was in charge of this mission. I was the one who invited everybody to prepare for the attack. I’m a failure. “Then tell us what’s your plan”, she suddenly grinned at me. “I know you can figure out a better way than all of mine… combine!”
“Haha, no wonder you paused; the two words rhyme”, Izzy giggled. “Come on, Courtney, we’re counting on you to do this. We know Collin would never lie, especially when he said something about you”.
