Izzy’s POV

First of all, Alex even hurt her best friend, Courtney, because of some man coming out of a hardware store. We asked if she was okay, and I knew she wasn’t, but she answered us she was fine, anyways.

We led her to our room again and she wanted to sit down on a small bookshelf on the floor and we let her. “So, how are you doing?” I asked.

“I’m okay, guys”, Courtney hesitated to tell us the truth again. “I told you, for the last time, I’m fine”.

“In the first place, did Alex mean to hurt you?” Coleen asked.

“I-I don’t think so. I don’t think she meant it”.

“But… you fell on your butt”, I explained, leaning on a wall.

“Pelvis”, she corrected. “It’s the end of the spinal column. It’s connected to my back and my brain, most especially”.

Coleen sighed. “You don’t get it, Courtney. What if Alex meant to hurt you?”

“No, she wouldn’t. She’s just messed up”.

“Is she too messed up to not to hurt you?”

“I know she wouldn’t hurt me”.

Suddenly, Addison enters the room. “Courtney, are you okay?” she rushes toward us and puts a hand on my shoulder. “Hey, Iz…”

“I told you all, for the last time, I’m fine”.

“Are you sure?”

“Of course, I’m sure”.

“I can’t believe Alex would hurt you like that”.

“She didn’t mean to hurt me!”

Then, Alex entered the room. “Just the person I wanted to see…” I murmured to myself. I believed I had to have a word with her, even, for just a few minutes.

Alex didn’t say anything, not a word. She just walked past us and opened the glass doors to our balcony, and well, she just… hugged her knees and sat there…. without any sounds…. alone…

“Alex…” Courtney called, and she tried to stand up. She was able to get up but she didn’t balance her legs right. Her legs were like jelly, quite wobbly. Courtney fell to the floor.

“Courtney!” I gasped, and helped her up.

She stood in her legs again and she walked over to Alex and whispered some things. Together, they stood up. Courtney almost fell down again but luckily Alex caught her and supported her around.

“Watch your step, Courtney”. Alex warned, putting Courtney’s arm around her shoulder. Alex made Courtney sit down on her bookshelf again. “Be careful”.

“She wouldn’t be feeling like that if you didn’t…” my mouth said unexpectedly. “Freak out…” Everyone faced me for what I said. No one ever expects me to answer rudely. “Okay, guys, I’m sorry; I swear, I didn’t mean that”.

“Uh, sure…” Addison winced.

“Okay, Alex, why did you want to threaten that man?” Courtney asked.

“I know that man. He just works at a mechanics garage”, I said, out of the topic. “He lives nearby our street”.

By Courtney’s question, Alex’s eyes widened, her arms already crossed and did I mention that her cape looks good with her? It was black with ash-grey anchors patterns as for designs. Where did she buy that thing anyways? It’s quite beautiful. What was that made of, volcano ash?
