Addison’s POV

“Okay, for one thing, why do we have to do this?” I found myself complaining at the moment I realized I could end up like Agent Vallore. “Doesn’t it sound too dangerous?”

Courtney let go of my hand from a sudden grasp. “Look, Agent Vallore died to make us go to this mission. Whether you like it or not, we need to follow his orders. It doesn’t mean that because he’s already dead, it doesn’t mean a single thing that we disobey his orders”.

“I guess you do have a point”, Izzy agreed in a low tone then suddenly glanced at me with the same miserable look I had on my face. She then mouthed to me, “What do we do now?”

“I don’t know”, I mouthed back. “Courtney has a point. We can’t disobey another agent’s orders if it’s for the greater good”.

Alex turned back to a girl and entered a room to the left as we all followed. “Welcome to paradise”, she muttered having a disgraced smile. “That was never a hopeful sigh. Come on, we’ll have to get our weapons”.

“Excuse me”, a boy with blonde hair and green eyes said at the door. “Can I help you?”

“Quit sneaking around, Emmet”, Alex cracked a smile. “We’re trying to pick out weapons here and would you mind?”

“Oh sure but I could be useful”.

“How could you then?”

He grabbed five Rubik cubes from the shelf. “I could hand you you’re weapons if you’d like”.

“Fine”, she agreed as we all went over to him. “Seriously, what made you think as if you were some kind of head of the family? Let me guess you got struck by lightning, didn’t you?”

“If I did, I’m supposed to be lying with Agent Vallore”.

He gave me a Rubik cube. “Okay, what am I supposed to do with this?” I asked.

“Grasp it”.

And I did. Suddenly, I made it turn into a grappling hook. “Well, proof enough”, Coleen nodded.

Emmet handed the rest with Rubik cubes. Mine was already a grappling hook. Coleen got a laser bracelet which seemed sort of cool. Izzy had a bag of little smoke and exploding bombs for a quick get-away. Courtney had this space shades and I have no idea how it worked but she did have a gun along with her. Alex grasped hers but it turned into nothing. It just disappeared.

“What happened?” I asked. “Is there something wrong about yours?”

“I don’t know. The stupid cube just disappeared”, she replied.

Emmet giggled. “Well, the Rubik cube of yours transmitted into your body. Look at your wrist”.

We looked and saw a petite rectangular shape in her wrist as I glowed yellow. It wasn’t bright but it was like a firefly sort of spark. It was adorable! A watch suddenly wrapped around her wrist. “What’s with the watch?”

“It came out of your system because of the chip inside you. It’s the teleporting device Jayden sent you”.

“I remember”, Coleen said unexpectedly. I nudged her. “Hey, what the heck is wrong with you? I only said I remember”.

“Sure you did”, I grinned. No, Coleen and Jayden pair up perfectly. They make such a couple, if I do say so myself. “I believe you but I know you much more remember the boy than the watch”.

“I think it really is best you go off to your mission now. Time moves fast, you know. We’ll all have to be busy so you better get a move on”, Emmet uttered with a smile.
