Sarah POV

"Auggie I need you to text Nat and tell her to meet you up here immediately." I then left my sister, who was standing in shock.

They held the pocket knife in place so that she wouldn't bleed out . Though her arm was bleeding profusely. "I'm her doctor." I said approaching the other doctors. "How can I help?" I asked. One of the nurses motioned for them to follow her. We got on the elevator with Aurora on the gurney and too her down to trauma. When we got off the elevator I was met face to face with Natalie. "I left Auggie up there alone please go up there she needs you." I said all as we were getting the gurney off the elevator.

She nodded and entered the elevator.

We pulled her into trauma one. "Sedate her." I said as doctor Choi walked in. "Okay keep that in place." he pointed to the knife. "We need a turna kit on the arm." I applied the turna kit to her. The bleeding slowed. I knew she would lose this arm.

"Everything looks good so far lets get her up to OR."

Natalie POV

When I made it upstairs I saw Auggie sitting in a chair staring blankly. She had a hat on that covered her scar. "Auggie," she made eye contact with me and gulped. "She cut herself." she looked at me like she was searching for answers. "She tried to kill herself just like he did." she was referring to her attacker. I sat next to her on the chair. "I.. I want my sister.. when can I see my sister." she barely managed to get out in between breaths. I placed my hand on her knee. "I don't know. Sarah is busy right now." I knew that the last part was probably not the best thing to say. "Right, busy." she gulped again. "I am sure she'll be up here as soon as she can. Someone has to get their stitches out." I tried to change the subject. "I can't." she sighed. "Sarah is busy." suddenly Sarah got off the elevator and picked up her pase to head towards us. Auggie got up and headed towards Sarah. They embraced, Sarah had her hands on Auggies head and Auggie held on to her for dear life. "It's okay." Sarah comforted her sister.

"What do you say we go get those stitches out?" Sarah asked. "We will talk about this later." she assured Auggie.

We took Auggie to a private room so that I could remove the stitches. I was almost done with taking the stitches out of her head when a man walked in. "Dr. Reese your patient is out of surgery." Sarah let go of Auggies hand that she was once holding. "Perfect, take me to her." she stood up. "But.." Auggie began to speak. "She's my patient, August." Sarah said sternly. "And I'm your sister." Auggie muttered. "Text me when you're done."

Auggie silently laid back down. "Is this what it will be like when she goes back to work?" Auggie asked honestly. "No, it will be fine."

I knew that this all was going to be a big change for Auggie and Sarah. Sarah was raising a teenager and this teenager had gone through so much. I wished that I could help them both. "Tummy time." I said lifting up Auggies shirt to remove the stitches from her stomach. "Can I just have a break for a minute?" she asked standing up. She began to sway a little. "Are you okay Aug?"

The next thing  I knew Auggie had passed out and was on the ground. While on the way down she smacked her head on the side of the tray I was keeping my tools. "I need some help in here!" I shouted.

Doctors flocked in. I told a nurse to go get Dr. Reese.

Sarah POV

I felt bad for leaving my sister but I had already let Aurora down once.

When I entered her room Aurora was sleeping. I felt the need to hold her hand like I would when Auggie was sleeping but she wasn't my sister, she was my patient.

Her eyes began to flutter. "What are you doing here?" she asked, her voice was weak. "Talking to you." I sat down next to her bed. "Why?" I asked her. "I just didn't want to do it anymore." she turned her head to not look at me. "We've talked about this before." she sighed. "It was getting better." I reminded her. "It was and then you left." she spat at me. "Do you have any siblings?" I asked her. "Two." she answered. "Older or younger?" I asked.

"Both. Younger brother older sister."

"Imagine that something happened to your family and you were the only person your brother had left in this world. What would you do?"

"I would do anything for him."

"I am all my sister has left. I saw her as close to death that you were and had to know that I was the only person who could advocate for her. So I'm sorry. I am so sorry I left. But I had to do what I had to do."

"Dr. Reese." a nurse said rushing in the room. "Your sister fainted they need you now."
