"Make sure to learn your surroundings, always keep an eye open." Icel informs, "This is where the pit of monsters are. They won't hesitate to rip your skin off your bones, and drink every last once of blood in you."
Not a single one of us show any indication of terror, we already knew what we were getting into. We wouldn't back down, not now. Not ever.
A ripple sounds, and Icel's wings flap. The air around us billow around our heads, our hair going wild. Icel looks back at us, inclining his big, scaly head. He was absolutely gorgeous, both in his human form and dragon form. I never thought I'd see a dragon before I came to this world. It really opened up my view of things. Of what was possible, and the endless possibilities.
Gemi must've not seen how big he was compared to us, and how deadly he can be as her mouth stood agape.
A screeching cry erupts from a creature, and many noises echoes the sound all around us. They weren't far from us. And they are the best of the best. The queen killed off the weak.
I look around us, looking in every direction. Keeping my ears and eyes open for anything aimed to kill us.
Icel roars, the sound threatening to all those who would dare challenge us.
And that's when a cat-like figure leaps out from behind some brush, it's bloody teeth gleaming in the light as it almost sunk it's teeth into Icel's shoulder.
Icel easily threw his wing at the attacker and it fell to the ground with a whimper.
Others followed suit, throwing themselves at all of us. I smacked my arm down, and felt for a neck. When I could feel that thin piece of skin, I twisted until it split open. It's tendons spewed all over the ground, and I took on the next predator.
Gemi was throwing high kicks as one tried to tackle her from where it jumped from a tree. It snarled close to her face, snapping its' sharp teeth. She kicked it, then followed it to the ground. She stomps on it to hold it down, then reaching low as she turns its' neck sideways.
Rina was swooping low as well, taking them down as she slamms her foot into their neck. A satisfying crunch echoes, and the thing falls limp. Dead.
They surround us, and we keep pushing back. Fighting our way through the creatures and gore that was littered all around us. I saw one leap for Rina, Rina unaware that it was close to ripping out her throat.
I throw myself at a tree, bouncing off of it as I took it down. Barreling into it, bringing us both to the ground. It growled and hissed in my face as I try to shove it off. It thrashes in my grip, getting too close to my neck for comfort.
Gemi swings at it as it falls to the ground, but immediately gets back up. Stalking towards us. It stared at us with eyes the color of pure darkness itself. Its eyes trained on us, ready to pounce. Its back legs scooted back, its spine reaching lower to the ground like a dog playing with a toy.
It was lifted in the air with one claw, the thing snapping its teeth and thrashing every which way. Digging its claws into Icel, which in turn made Icel screech in agony right before it was turned to bloody ribbons.
As I look around, gasping for air, I realized that was the last of it. We didn't shout with excitement, give each other hugs like most people who would think that this bloody mess was an accomplishment. We didn't think it was an accomplishment to kill them. We were the ones walking into their territory, which gives them the right to defend themselves. My face was an expression of blankness. None of this was right.
But we had to in order to make it through what was to come.
Rina abruptly says, "I saw you got bit by one of those dogs."
Icel stares at her and says back, "I don't know what you are talking about."
"Don't give me that crap. Let me see how bad it is."
"There's nothing there."
"Bullshit. If there really wasn't, you would let me see it." She hisses.
She walks over there, and before he can swat her arm away she looks at his shoulder and steps back.
"We need to get that cleaned before it does too much damage." She raises her voice just a tad and says, "That could be lethal. We don't know if they carry poison. Or what kind. Why did you try to hide that from us?"
"We need to keep moving."
"We need to find some healing water."
"We'll find some on the way there."
"Fine." She huffs, and strides off. We all rush after her, none of us can be left alone.
She abruptly stops, and I almost run into her.
I look over her shoulder, slowly so I wouldn't tip her over. Because if I were to, she would land in the soggy lake stretched out in front of us.
"We can't go in there." Rina protests.
"There's no other way around." Icel says back.
"Why don't we fly?" I add in.
Rina looks at me blankly, then remarks, "He hasn't been able to fly with much more than one person. Nobody has really been around to train him to fly with more than one person."
Even though I didn't really want to do this, especially because I didn't know if it could work, I say, "We could split up. I go with you, Gemi goes with Icel." It keeps them safe, at least. And I trusted Icel enough to take care of her. But I would still threaten him anyway.
"If she is harmed in any way, I will personally gut you..." I pause for emphasis, "and feed you to the monsters below myself."
He throws up his hands in defeat and says back, "I will take care of her."
"You better."
Rina says, "meet back up after we cross the lake?" She raises her eyebrows, and says, "And be careful with your injured shoulder. Don't rack it up. Fly smoothly."
"Yes ma'am."
Gemi climbs onto his back, and they leap into the air. The air whooshes around us, then it was just me and Rina.

That gets me thinking, what will happen? What will happen relationship wise? She still hasn't really said straight out(well she can't straight out say anything, but anyway) if she liked anybody. You can still have sex, and have it for relief. It doesn't have to mean anything. What do you guys think? And no, the next chapter doesn't have any smut in it. Boo hoo. That's for later. XD. But I'm thinking that I will end this book around 25 chapters, and start another book. Like make a series. Give me some feedback. Should I write a bunch of chapters in this book? Or make more than one? It's up to you guys. Just lemme know what you think.
P.S. How do you guys like the story so far? Any suggestions to make it better...or you wish it had more of something in it? Feedback always helps.
