Chapter 26

She was sat by the window at the end of the room. It was clear that she'd lost weight. A lot of weight. Her clothes which were once tight now hung loosely from her weak form. It was almost impossible to look at her like this; so frail and thin. Her head snapped at the sound of the door unlocking and she rubbed her eyes at the sight of us - unsure of whether she was hallucinating or not.
"Bora," I said gently, reaching my hand out as I approached her. Her gaze focused on my hand for a few brief moments before she jumped out of her seat at the window and straight into my arms. It felt so good to be able to hold her again but my joy soon turned to anger when I quickly realized how easily I could feel her ribs.

I'm going to kill him.

That's all I thought as I picked her up before handing her to Hoseok and rushing downstairs. The only thought which swelled my mind was ripping off Grifin's head in the slowest and painful way possible.

He was at the top of the stairs, where I left him, surrounded by the boys as he laid on his back and clenched his jaw in pain.
"What the hell did you do to her?" I yelled kicking him in the stomach so hard I swear I could feel his intestines jolt against my foot.
"I didn't do anything!" he winded, removing his hands from his face and wrapping them securely around his now injured stomach.
"Bullshit! She's so weak! How did she get to that state?"
"I told you I didn't do anything"
"Now isn't the time for your stupid riddles. Tell me!" I bellowed, kicking him in the back this time.
"Hyung, I think he means he didn't do anything- he didn't feed her; didn't talk to her" interrupted Tae. I knew that was better than using her for some absurd sex act but I still couldn't help the steam radiating out of my ears.
"You asshole!" I screamed one last time before reaching to his neck and twisting it slowly, only satisfied once the distinctive click of bones ran through my ears.

With Grifin dead, I was now able to focus on the only thing that mattered: my beautiful mate. I hauled myself up the stairs and back to where I'd left her and the rest of the boys.
"Let's get out of here," I said, scooping her away from Hoseok and back into my arms, taking the water bottle which she was sipping on with me. We walked down the stairs at a leisurely pace. It hadn't occurred to me that we were in a pack house full of wolves whose Alpha we'd just slaughtered. That was until we reached the front door to see Jin, Jimin and Tae held by gunned pack members at the front door. What kind of wolf pack uses guns? For christ sake, we're wolves, we don't need that crap! What weaklings. However, complaining about the cowardliness of the pack members from using guns wasn't going to free my three best friends.
"Let them go!" I said in the calmest voice possible, cradling Bora towards me to shield her from the violence.
"You killed our Alpha" replied the one who had seemed to taken the lead, he must be the Beta.
"I'm sorry, but you shouldn't stand between a wolf and his mate. That's exactly what your Alpha did"
"He did right to keep that human trash from you!" piped a smaller person from behind him. I was about to rip the head off that dog when Yoongi placed his arms in front of me, gesturing to the three boys who now had guns held right at their temples.
"Please just let us go," I said, remaining calm to hide my racing heart.
"Give us the girl"
"In your dreams"
"Fine, if we can't have her, no one can" he smirked. Before my mind could even process what was happening a gunshot echoed through the building. I search the room with my eyes, Jin, Jimin, and Tae were still standing with no blood staining their clothes, so where Hoseok, Yoongi, and Jungkook. I definitely hadn't been shot. Which just left one person.

"BORA!"

The bullet shot her below the shoulder blade and because of the location, I had no idea whether it had shot her heart or not. I prayed to god i hadn't, but as much as I wished her lifeless body still didn't move.
