The chair next to him creaked gently under her weight, "I'm sorry Daniel"

"Not how are you?"

She looked at him, "Because I know you are not okay, and its all my fault"

"I'll survive"

"Just know it was never my intention to hurt you"

He continued to stare at the shiny tiled floor, " I am not sorry. At least not for everything"

"Its good to see you again" he added.

"Likewise. But now I've got to get going, its getting late"

"I can walk you to the door if you'd like" he blurted, she shook her head, "No, thank you, I'll see you around" she stood up.

"Sure and you are always welcome to your second home"

"Thank you" she whispered and walked away.

That went well, he thought. He had actually expected a confrontation of total awkwardness. He smiled on the realisation that even though he wasn't over her , they actually had a decent conversation . He moved to peep into his sister's ward and found her asleep whilst grandma and grandson were staring at each other, a smile on the former's face. He closed the door and sat again feeling the exhaustion of the day catch up to him.

"Don't touch me!" he thought he heard Rain's voice coming down the corridor. All traces of exhaustion disappeared as he hopped off his chair, sprinting to the doors at the end of the corridor. He saw a man standing in front of Rain holding her by the arm. From his position behind the door, he couldn't see Rain's face to see the expression. He could see the man speaking in what he perceived to be a low tone.

And from the way Rain stood it looked as though she knew the man. He stood quietly when the man pulled her into a hug which she didn't resist till they both left together. It was as they were leaving that he caught a glimpse of the man to see it was Fred. Retiring back to his seat. He leaned in and closed his eyes cause well,

"out of sight, out of mind"

*************************

Fred had come apologising, he was sincere in his apology, she could see he was sincere. He was sorry for his actions but that wasn't a guarantee for her to look over what he'd done. Not even the fact that he'd followed her to the hospital. But she still couldn't deny it, she felt something for him, the feeling was still there, even though she could try denying it, it was still there.

She stood still at his car, he had held the door open waiting for her to enter.

"I don't want to go home now" Fred seemed to have heard her and nodded getting into the car after her door was closed driving them around town. He didn't even try to make small talk and for that she was grateful. He stopped once getting her a takeaway pastry and a soft drink. She took it gratefully. After a few more rounds of driving around, her mind was set and relaxed from the confusion and hurt. Like a for dissipating, it had all disappeared and left her light. It had been good to see the Asamoah's.

"Please take me home" and that was all the order Fred needed, in less than ten minutes he was pulling into her compound. She got out and walked towards the door, she didn't look back but the soles of his shoes hitting the ground behind her was enough to let her know he was right behind he. She stopped and turned to face her.

"I forgive you"

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, she counted the seconds till he reacted to her statement of pardon. He finally spoke on the 11th second. "Are you sure?" was the only question he asked.

"Fred I forgive you. you are human and you do have to know that you keeping this from me was not right. If we are to make this marriage work, you have to trust me. I trust you"

It took him some time to figure out what she was saying . when he finally did, a huge smile graced his features as he embraced her. She hugged him back as a smile stretched her lips.

"Thank you so much, I'm sorry for everything, not being trusting enough and for causing this pain you did not deserve. Thank you for giving me another chance. I love you"

Her smile grew wider, "I love you too"

He pulled away from the embrace and stared at her, "I missed hearing you say that"

She nodded giving a brief smile before moving onto a serious look, "I want to see Nessa"

It was time she met her cousin.
