Footsteps and whispers sounded outside her door, she had slept way into the morning, she had honestly not slept early, being to busy crying to know what time it was before she slept. A look at her table clock said it was nine twenty in the morning. She stood up from her bed and brushed her cream coloured drapes aside getting access to the view of the huge swimming pool located at the side of the house, a little further from the pool was the garage which was basically a huge canopy that housed the cars, a gardener was trimming some overgrown hedges in the garden that was by the pool.

Turning around she looked around the room, decorated with the theme colours of lavender and cream. Her walls were painted lavender with the furniture and any other equipment it housed being cream. She found her way into her bathroom which was opposite her bed. Once she was done with her morning routine, she pulled on her training clothes before finally pulling her unruly hair into a loose ponytail. Grabbing her training bag, she walked out the door, hearing the footsteps cease even before she got to turn the handle.

The corridors of the house was empty , as she walked into the hall and picked up one of the two car keys that were available in the bowl that held it. It was the keys of a Kia Sorento, she walked to the garage seeing no one, she didn't think much of the absence of the people on the compound, she was just thinking on getting to the gym. She felt like letting off some pent up frustration, she wanted a place to think. So the gym it was. She opened the door, got into the car and drove out before driving through the tall metal gates and then getting down to close it once again. She got into her car and drove again in the direction of the gym.

The vicinity had hardly changed since she left. And lost her memory too. Everything was still the same, as far as she could remember. She wondered what the Asamoah's were doing now, were they thinking of her actions in leaving abruptly without any warning, or had they already forgotten her and moved on with their lives. She chided herself mentally that their lives did not depend on her being in their lives, if she were to find herself in their shoes, she was sure she would definitely be hurt at the way she left. But now she realized there was no use crying over spilt mill, her actions were irreversible now. Even though she would love to take all she did back, to at least have thanked Mrs. Asamoah for everything they'd done for her and not seem like the ungrateful human being she had made herself to be in their eyes.

Now was not the time to think of things like this, she told herself when she felt tears burn her eyes at the thoughts running through her head. Composing herself, she prevented her mind from going on all the possibilities of the assumptions the Asamoah's had probably drawn about her. It was much easier that way.

Music sounded nearby, it sounded like a choir singing. As she drove the sound got nearer. She tried to know why a choir would be singing before realizing the day was a Sunday, a minute later, she drove into the parking lot of the church responsible for the sound of music. A huge building of a church it was, made of red brick stones, it sometimes looked like an ancient cathedral to her, the only thing that refuted the fact was when you entered the church and found them singing contemporary gospel. That was when people realized, okay it is a modern era temple.

The back row was empty, so she quietly and quickly slipped in to avoid the ushers who might have ushered her in front, she noticed her aunt and uncle in the second pew, Fred sat beside them, they created the picture of a family, it wasn't really surprising, they considered him a part of the family already. The message that was being talked about was on Holiness and righteousness.

She remained silent as the teachers voice echoed in the temple's silent atmosphere, everyone sat with rapt attention, but she could see one man dozing three rows from where she sat.

Righteousness, the teacher explained, was a gift we gained after being saved. To give it a simple meaning, immediately we ask God to cleanse us of our sins as we confess that we are sinners, we are clseansed and then put into a right standing with God, that is righteousness. Righteousness is not worked for, to be gained as a product of one's works, it was a gift we gained from salvation, as a package deal that it came with. But for holiness we were to strive for it. A holy life is not gained through gift we work for, just as we have a choice on who we have to let into our lives and how we want to live our lives, so it applies to living a holy life, you choose to do so.
