A smile was on her face as she hummed, the road they were currently on led to the orphanage, today was the dedication of the Assembly Hall. Finally their hard work and efforts to make the little ones smile was going to pay off. Fred accompanied her as in his own words, he wanted to see the building that decided to take up much of his fiancée’s time. She had no objections. Fred drove into the orphanage and looked around,.

“What don’t you like it?” Rain asked him, upon seeing the look in his eye, his face however was blank.

“You keep surprising me, it’s all” he shrugged still looking around.

Her eyebrows shot up, The Fred Osei was surprised, “Surprising you? How’s that possible?”
“I mean look around, how you were able to work here is a mystery”

She looked at him and laughed, “Mystery? You are joking right?” But then again, it did make sense, Fred would never be caught dead in a place like this, he had requirements for places to work in and the orphanage fell way below those requirements.
He looked serious as he went on to explain himself, “It’s not ....” she cut in immediately knowing what he was about to say, “My level? Something a woman of my class should not do? Is that what you were going to say?”

His mouth clamped shut.

“Let’s just go” she said climbing out of the car and waited for him to do same before walking up the stairs into the hall they’d worked in for the past weeks. The hall was decorated with small chairs and tables and a small round platform was set up in the centre of the room. Looking around, she looked towards the window where the squeals of children were coming from and saw a bouncy castle. Her eyes went wide she could see Nessa had outdone it. Daniel was nowhere to be seen as well as Pastor Aaron.

She walked through the side door to see everyone was out there. Finally she noticed Daniel had a booth a little close to the bouncy castle by following the line of children coming from his direction with their face painted in different colours. She moved close to him, Fred following at distance.
There was a loud yell coming from his booth as Daniel was talking to something on the ground. She got close to realize the something was a little boy sitting on the ground with a frown, shirt in hand; tears were streaming down his face. He was shaking his head at something Daniel said before bursting into a wail.

She got to his side and squatted, “Hey it’s a party why the tears?”

“I don’t want paint on my face!” he wailed

“Okay then we won’t do that, so what painting do you want?”

He sniffed, “I want a lion”

“Where do you want the painting? Do you want it on your hand?”

“My stomach!” he wailed again, “But h…he said n...no” he pointed at Daniel an accusing glare on his face. She burst out laughing causing the little boy to cast his glare on her, she shut up then, “Okay, Mr. Face painter please paint little mans stomach” she said making the boy stand up as he quickly wiped his face with the shirt he held in his hand and inched towards Daniel his stomach on display as a painting canvass.

Daniel shot her a playful glare and mouthed a thank you and carried on painting the young man’s belly. She turned around bumping into Fred slightly before he wrapped his arm around her shoulders mumbling a sorry. Smiling at him, she looked around the sea of children they currently stood in, close to the bouncy castle, she could see some members of Pastor Aaron’s church standing with him as they talked and laughed. Nessa finally appeared, a wide smile on her face, ringing a tiny bell having everyone’s rapt attention, “Now may we all move inside the hall, for the main reason why we are here”
