A/N: (Don't worry about how late this is) !!MEGA CHAPTER!! There's a shit ton of Mullette in this chapter. Lafayette is so done this whole time because of his family, but he manages to lighten up eventually.
_____________________________=Lafayette's POV=
{With Herc and Laf}I knew he would be upset. After all of the time we've spent together I never decided to tell him who my brother was, even after all of the things I've said about him. Hercules probably would've killed him if he got his hands on him, so I decided that it was better if I didn't tell him who he was. Is. Who he is. Now he knows, and he's probably super mad. He trusts me with basically everything as far as I know, so I guess he expected me to do the same. I just couldn't risk the two of them getting into a fight. Hercules' grip doesn't leave my wrist until we're standing in front of his car, and he still hasn't said a word to me. With a click the doors of the mustang are unlocked, and I begin to climb into the passenger seat. No getting out of this now.
Herc, still silent, walks over to the driver's side and climbs in. All I do is buckle my seatbelt, set my bag on the ground, and fold my hands anxiously over my my lap. He starts the car, buckling himself in as well. The fact that he still hasn't said a word is quite unsettling, but I feel that this isn't the right time for me to start a pointless conversation. The silence is killing me. We sat in silence until we made it to the highway, where Hercules just turned to look at me. He just sat there for a couple minutes, which made me feel even more uncomfortable, so I avert my gaze to the car packed highway outside. "Laf," He says, voice almost a whisper. I turn back to him, relieved that he's finally speaking, yet still fretting what he had to say. "Why? Why didn't you tell me? I could've done something!" "Hercules," I say calmly, weighing my options on how to continue, "you and I both know that you wouldn't have been able to control yourself if you did..." He looks out of the windshield of the car, pushing on the gas pedal and inching us forwards a bit. "Yeah, but he'd deserve everything he got. John put him in his place anyways."
"Because John didn't have a choice! None of us could get to them, so he stepped up to stop Thomas. This is completely different." "So?! He's done so much to so many people, and if I knew you were being affected because of his bad habits, I would've done something! I wouldn't let a single person harm you, Lafayette. You know this." I stared back at him, feeling my face grow hot. It's like he's being sweet without even trying to! He has no clue. Both of our phones were going off rapidly with notifications, but I don't think this is the best time to be paying attention to them. Our friends are probably just messing around in the group chat, anyways. I didn't really have anything to say, he has good intentions for all of this. "That's really sweet Hercules. Th-Thank you." Did I just fucking stutter?! He really is affecting me. "I mean it all, Laf. I just can't afford to lose you. I care about you too much, and if someone's hurting you, you tell me and I will put them in their place. They won't lay a hand on your perfect face again."
And he admits all of this shamelessly. What a man. (He's so gay) "P-Perfect face?" I ask, feeling my heart rate pick up. He looks over at me as though I just made a pointless statement. "That's what I said. You're gorgeous Lafayette." J'ai l'impression que mon visage brûle. Oh mon dieu. "You really think so?" I ask him in disbelief. Sure, I've been called fabulous in the past, but hearing it from Hercules so sincerely makes my heart jump with joy... in a kind of concerning way. "Of course I do! How could I not? You know I'm completely honest with you, Laf, and I'd appreciate it if you were too." "I'm honest! It's just hard to tell you everything." Hercules sighs, glancing my way, "I understand that Laf. I don't expect you to tell me everything, but I need to know something that important."
