"I believe in the immeasurable power of love; that true love can endure any circumstance and reach across any distance."

― Steve Maraboli

Over the next two weeks Taylor and I texted and called each other all the time. She was busy with her next album and I was busy filming a new movie I was cast in. It hurt to be apart from her but with our lives and careers it had to be this way.

One day I decided to surprise her and fly down to Nashville. She had her jet in LA, so I flew down on that. I slept most of the way to Nashville and when the jet touched down, I called her.

"Hey Taybae," I said.

"Taylor! How's LA?" she asked.

"Oh I'm sure it's doing just fine as always," I replied.

"What do you mean?" she asked, "Are you filming somewhere else?"

"Hmm nope I'm not actually, we're done filming for a few weeks," I said, "I'm on vacation right now."

"Oh are you? Without me? That's a let down," she replied.

"Well that's the twist, you see..."

She giggled. "Oh? Well how's the weather where you are? Look out a window."

I looked up and saw her waving with her phone pressed up against her ear.

"The weather here just got hotter," I stated.

I watched her throw her head back and laugh. She hung up and put her phone in her pocket. I grabbed my bags and ran over to her.

I hugged her and touched my forehead to hers. Then I brushed a strand of her wavy blonde hair behind her ear. Then we kissed. We kissed for a long time before either one of us said anything. Finally, I spoke.

"You sure are a smart one," I murmured against her lips.

I felt her smile against my mouth as she nodded her head.

Eventually, we linked arms and walked to her car, sneaking a smooch every five seconds. Once we were in her car, on the way to her house, I asked her how she knew I was at the airport. She smiled knowingly and looked out her window.

"I got a call that someone had boarded my jet to Nashville. So I called your house and guess who didn't answer?" she said with a smirk.

"Hmmm that means I'm gonna have to be a little sneakier next time!" I replied.

When we got back to her penthouse, I talked to her about what I had been talking about with the wedding planner. She said she already had her parents in search of a priest.

"Oh! That reminds me! I was going with my parents' to some restaurant for dinner tonight, would you be my date?" she asked shyly.

"Gee, of course I will," I said as snuck my arm around her waist, "But I kinda thought we were a package deal, us being engaged to each other and all, " I pulled her closer to me.

She brushed her lips against mine. "Mmm that's right, I almost forgot."

"What! How could you forget?!" I mumbled.

"Well, all this living alone has taken its toll you know..." she trailed off as she pressed her lips against mine.

"You don't even know how sorry I am to hear that," I said breathlessly.

"Oh I think I do."

"We can't live like this," I stated.

"I know, Tay, I know," she muttered.

I hopped up on the counter and pulled her on my lap. She adjusted herself so that she was straddling me. I lightly kissed the end of her nose and she giggled.

"You know how much I missed your laugh?" I whispered.

"How much?" she asked.

I spread my arms. "This much," I answered.

"Ooo that's a lot!" she said coyly.

I nodded and pulled her closer to me. I wanted to feel her body pressed up against mine. She had her arms wrapped around my neck. I had one hand pressed against the small of her back and the other against the back of her neck. Our foreheads were touching and we stared into each other's' eyes. We were just about to kiss again, when Meredith walked into the kitchen and started meowing like something was chasing her.

Taylor jumped to the floor and scooped her up. I slid off the counter and began reprimanding Meredith. Taylor just laughed and said that Meredith will not listen to me, or anyone else. I shook my head and kissed Taylor's forehead.

I took her arm and lead her to a couch in her den. We sat down beside each other and I held Meredith until she jumped out of my arms and stalked off to another room. Taylor predicted she was going to take another nap. I said I didn't care, we were alone again. She shoved me playfully when I went in for a kiss and jumped up off the couch. She ran off to another room.

I got off the couch and followed her at a slower speed, still limping from that old gunshot wound. I ended up at a closed door. A closed bedroom door.

I knocked lightly and immediately walked in to her completely naked. My jaw dropped, maybe it was just me, but she seemed a lot more toned and tanned now since she left LA.

She gasped and tried shoving me out. I knew this was a game, so I fought to stay in. I ducked under her and crawled on the bed. I pulled my shirt off over my head and wiggled out of my jeans. I stripped out of my boxers and reached for her. She laid down next to me; her body folded perfectly against mine.

"I was actually getting dressed to go to my parents' you know," she whispered.

I shrugged. "What time is dinner?"

She bit her lip and said, "7:00pm."

I glanced at the clock, it read 4:30pm.

I turned to her and grinned.

"I guess we have a little time...but um if you don't mind I think we should do something else instead of laying here like this," she rambled quickly as she pushed herself off the bed.

I was confused. But I wasn't going to press her. That was wrong. She said no, so that's no.

"Well what do you suggest we do then?" I asked as I slipped back into my boxers.

"I was thinking about a little drinking game," she said shyly.

I raised my eyebrows. "A drinking game? Taylor it's 4:30 in the afternoon."

"Not alcohol, it's too early for that, I was thinking coffee," she replied.

"Taylor it's 4:30 in the afternoon," I repeated.

"Yeah," she said, grabbing my bare arm, "I heard you the first time cutie." She had dragged me out to the kitchen and sat me down in a chair with a pot of coffee and two coffee cups.

She looked at me devilishly, "Lets begin shall we?"
