Chapter Twenty Seven

Batman POV

Batman was ashamed that he left even though Joker told him to. He felt as though maybe if he stayed he could've gotten through to him more, but he hated upsetting him anymore than he already has.

What was Batman to do now? Go home? Back to the Hall of Justice? Look for crimes in Gotham? He felt lost and wasn't sure what to do. All he did know was Joker was one of his biggest purposes in life and now that's all gone.

He decided to roam around Gotham City in his batmobile and spend more time in his thoughts. Then out of the blue he noticed something. It was huge and seemed threatening. The closer he drove to where it was the more he saw that the Justice League has already jumped to stop whatever it was, he saw Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, The Flash, Cyborg, Martain Man Hunter, etc. He saw so many of his teammates except for Superman.

It's not as if Batman wanted to see him but it seemed strange he wouldn't show up to help everyone else when he was one of the most important members. Batman grappled his way up to a tall building and stopped Wonder Woman to talk to her about what's happening.

"Diana, what is that thing and why is it here? Why is Clark not helping?" He asked.

"We're not sure what it is but it has many weapons aimed and ready to hurt everyone so we have to stop it before destruction. Superman's not here because took time off from the team and went to his fortress of solitude. He said he wasn't feeling like himself and needs a break so I've been taking over for him." She replied.

"I think I know why he left but he can take care of himself I guess. Do you know who is behind all of whatever this aircraft is?" Batman was concerned.

"No. but we picked up someone we haven't felt in a long time on our radars. I was hoping maybe you knew being gone so long, I thought you might have found some information on this springing up today out of nowhere." Wonder Woman explained.

"I might have an idea but it's far fetched..." Batman took off after saying that, using his cape to fly back down to his batmobile to scan and see what this UFO like thing is.

To his surprise there was no information of it and not even Alfred could help from the batcave. Then suddenly there was a huge screen that popped up from behind the aircraft along with lasers and guns rising up to shoot.

Batman looked up at it and saw Joker's face on the screen.

"Hey Bats! You missed me!? Turns out heartbreak can really turn a man insane! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!" He scream laughed maniacally through the speakers, then stepped out standing on his aircraft of weapons with a microphone, "I'm all here for you now Batsy! Come fight me if you dare! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!"

Batman stood there in shock, "This is my fault..."
