Christina.
"Come on! Please can some one tell me what's going on!" I cried, asking my mom and Kate who were the only one's left back at the house to escort me to the 'dinner' as they seemed to say.
I grunted softly and Kate burst out laughing. I shot her a look and she just smirked at me. "You haven't grunted since like grade school."
"Yeah and you haven't kept a sceret from me since kindergarten." I hissed back.
"Now, now young ladies. This isn't a time to waste in arguing." My mother said giving us both 'the glare' as she continued looking at me now; "Why don't you relax baby, you know just let the night progress and you will eventually know whats going on. Yes?" She said with a soft look waving a relaxing hand on my knee.
I drew in a deep breath and nodded. I then turned to Kate and mouthed a sorry to her.
"Its okay, I understand your frustration." she smiled back.
With that said everyone went back to quiet thoughts and occasionally commenting on what us by in the car.
Within seconds of quietness, I felt nervousness of what might be waiting for me at dinner. I started to fidget with the hem of my dress and chewing on my bottom lip. I was sure that there was something good in store for me but me being me - a very curious person that is - had to over think things a million times.
From the corner of my eyes I could see Kate looking at me, I faced her and she lifted her eyebrow. I nodded my head and got back to fidgeting.
"Will you stop that fidgeting! Just relax... We're just going for a stupid dinner for heavens sake!" Kate bursted out suddenly.
I let out a nervous laugh and rolled my eyes at her; "You know that I can't help but overthink things." I shrugged.
I heard her sigh and drop her head back on the seat with a 'thud'.
"Ladies, you have reached your destination." The driver notified us.
"Com'n" I heard mom say as she got out of the car first.
We followed her as she entered a dim lighted renaissance kind restaurant. Yellow lights covered the entrance of the restaurant where a lady was standing for bookings. The place wasn't crowded as such but the people looked like that from the high society.
A woman approached us and gave us a nod that indicated we follow her. In step after her, we were led to a private room which I guessed was used for private occassions or probably business deals.
She pushed the door open for us and gave us a warm smile as she said, "Enjoy your evening".
"Thanks" I mummered back.
Mom and Kate went in first since they insisted I must be the after effect for everyone to see. I literally felt so cliche at that point of time, I had to roll my eyes at that.
I could hear some chatter going on as I walked further in and I smiled at thought of seeing Sam again. I really needed sometime alone with him, he made me feel relaxed whenever I was near her and I just couldn't wait to be with him tonight.
The chatter stopped as I reached the table and saw, everyones eyes on me. As if they hadn't ever seen me.
I hesitantly smiled and looked at everyone seated at the table until I found Sam's face and walked towards him. He was grinning at me in awe and just then I knew it was the effect of what I was wearing that made all of them look at me the way they were. Before I took the seat besides Sam, I leaned down to give him a soft kiss on the lips to which he responded with more intensity than before. Something was different about it, or was it just me. I thought.
