Raisie POV:
Just after Ember had gone, the phoenix came directly to me and indicated that I should follow it. Just when we got through the shrubbery we came into a dense forest like area with all sorts of plants growing in all different directions. I was confused, wasn't this supposed to be a trial? What was happening? Was it a trap?
The plants began to climb all over each other becoming more and more tangled up in one another as they grew. I looked up and saw a cage like thing comin down onto me. It seemed I would have to escape it. But how? Those vines were thick, and there were thorns everywhere.
It lowered onto me and began to shrink, capturing me more and more securely. My breathing got heavier and my heart raced. Everything seemed to slow down and my arms felt heavy.
I suddenly snapped out of it, drew shadowfang and began to slash at the tangled vines that surrounded me to no avail. Wherever I slashed the vine would break only to heal itself instantly. Soon I began to run out of breath even more every fibre of my being just wanting to let the cage encase me forever.
"Ah, but that would be the easy way out of it. Wouldn't you much rather go down with more of a fight? Your material weapons are not all you have my dear. Use everything you have to your advantage."
As soon as it had come the voice left. I looked around me in the ever shrinking cage and began to see the way the vines were tangled together. There was a pattern and if I could see it then I would be able to get out. I began to search through the vines and saw all the little twists and turns that made the cage. Now if only I could find the start of this thing I'd be able to get out of this suffocating cage. Time passes and I still can't find the start of this darn thing!!
Time to find a new strategy. The voice said something about using everything around me to my advantage. So what did that leave? My energy? But what could that ever do?
I thought back to the very first time we'd all trained together, making that cage out of our energies and luring those things inside it. Inspiration struck and I quickly got to work. Hopefully the plan would work in my favour.
Remembering that first training I began to manipulate the plants into forming another shape effectively breaking the cage and setting me free. They were persistent but I managed to make a small opening big enough for me to squeeze through. With a huge sigh of relief I began to make my way towards it anticipating my release. But it was not to be so. The opening closed. I had lost my focus and would need to work even harder before I'd be able to break free.
Finally after focusing my energy on bending the plants outwards I managed to get myself out.
I felt a lurch and found myself in a clearing with several hooded figures sitting at a long table. One of them spoke in a silvery voice
"Welcome Raisie, you have earned your wings. You will be transported back to the place whence you came in a moment. For now, your energy is white, you are a healer correct?"
I could only nod, stunned but the figure appeared to have seen my nod despite me never seeing their faces.
"Good, that is the colour your wings will be. Farewell, and treasure this gift."
I found myself back in the place I'd been what felt like moments before but was at least an hour if not more. All of the others weren't there, their trials must still be going on. All I could do now was wait for them to return.
A/N: Yes I know it's been ages, but I had a difficult time writing in Raisie' perspective. It's hard when you've come to know one character in depth and are used to their way of thinking.
I hope you like this chapter, please vote if you did! I will be writing the next one over the next while and hope to have it done asap.
If you have questions feel free to comment or flick me a message.
