"Good morning sunshine." Claire greeted me, when I entered the kitchen. I grinned, waving.
"Morning." Is aid, getting some cereal. I had actually gotten up and ready early today, because Luke was coming over to give me my mum.
Gavin walked out, with his brown hair all over the place and tiredness in his eyes.
"Morning babe." He grumbled, kissing Claire on the cheek. She smiled, facing him, wrapping her arms around his neck.
"Want some eggs handsome?" She grinned, placing a kiss to his lips. He grinned, nodding.
"You know I do." He chuckled, as she let go of him. He came and sat next to me at the dining table, as Claire got to work on the eggs.
"So, Raelynn." He started, but I cut him off.
"Rae. I personally don't like Raelynn. Too formal." I said, a look of disgust over taking my features. He chuckled nodding.
"Okay. Rae. Who's taking you to homecoming?" He asked me, as Claire set a cup of coffee in front of him. I felt my cheeks heat up, as I put a spoon full of cereal in my mouth. At that moment, the doorbell rang.
Saved by the bell.
I hurriedly stood up and ran to the door, swinging it open. I saw Luke standing there in a fitting shirt and jeans. He was holding a small mum, because we agreed nothing big.
"Hey pretty." He grinned, wrapping his arm around me in a side hug. I watched as Gavin and Claire appeared at the doorway, smirks on their faces.
"So this is the infamous Luke? Huh?" Claire said, smirking at me.
"Infamous?" Luke chuckled, glancing down at me. I adverted his gaze, by keeping my blushing face looking down. I was pretty talented at it anyway.
"Hi. Im Luke. And I'm assuming your," He started, but stopped, un known to her relation to me.
"Sister. Claire. And this is my boyfriend, Gavin." She said, shaking Luke's hand. He nodded, looking them over. "Our parents already left, but you'll meet them tonight." She grinned.
"Sorry if this is rude, but you and Rae don't look anything alike." He said, confusion filling his tone. I looked up, comfortable with this topic. W head been asked this several times since I was born.
"Claire was adopted before I was born because my parents were told they couldn't have kids. But low and behold, here I am." I said, spilling what I always said when the question arose. He nodded, putting his arm around my shoulders.
"Well, we should be going. It was nice to meet y'all." Luke waved, as I grabbed my bag and phone that was by the door, before leaving. I climbed into his truck, sighing. "Ready?" He asked me. I looked at him, grinning.
"As ready as I'll ever be." I said, grinning. He chuckled starting the engine and backing out.
We arrived at school, to see everyone heading in to the building with large groups of friends or their dates. I was able to spot Naomi's black hair in the crowd , as I sped up to walk with her.
"Hey." I said cheerfully once I caught up. She looked at me, grinning. She was wearing a cute baby blue t-short dress with gold sandals and her hair curled.
"Hey. Where's Luke?" She asked, as we entered the building. Everyone was rushing around, trying to get to their first period or their lockers in time before the bell.
"Right here." He said, as he appeared at my side. I saw Naomi's cheeks turn a light pink as we walked down the hall.
"Morning Arce." Naomi said when we entered the class together. He looked up from his computer eying us down.
