"Ready Lynnie?" Marcus asked me as I slowly made my way down the stairs.

It's been one week since I got home, and I've made significant progress, according to my doctor. I'm now able to walk by my self without pain, for the most part. The only hard thing is moving quickly. I have to move at a slow pace because sudden movements hurt my abdomen.

"Yeah. As ready a sill ever be." I sigh, looking over my outfit one more time.

It's a loose cheer hoodie from Claire that goes down to my mid thigh and some black leggings and some converse.

"Okay. Let's get you to school so you can get everything set up with the nurse." He grins, taking my hand. We walk out to the car, and drive to school. It's only 7 am, thirty minutes before school opens, but we talked to the principal and he gave us permission to enter early.

"State your name." The lady said through the buzzer at our front door.

"Raelynn McKnight." I say, as the door unlocks. We walk in and I'm greeted warmly my the nurse.

"Oh sweetie. How are you?" Mrs. Jackson, asks.

"Doing better." I lightly laugh as she leads us to her office.

"Great. So as we spoke about over the phone. You have an elevator pass and a five minutes early pass. No gym for as long as required and come to me any time of you need your pain pills. I know you know the rules about your medication and I've spoken to your doctor." She explains, handing me all the passes as I slip them into my lanyard.

"Thank you so much." I smile sweetly. She gives me a small side hug before e make our way to my first period.

"Morning Arce." I smile, happy to be back in the art room.

"Oh. Hello Rae. Glad to finally have you back." He smiles at me as I take my seat. Marcus puts my stuff down, kissing my head.

"I'll see you in third." He smiles, waving.

"Bye Arce." He says, leaving the class.

"Goodbye Marcus." Mr. Arce reply's before sitting in the desk in front of me.

"So, tell me what happened." He asks. I nod, explaining everything I remember of New Year's Eve.

"And now I'm here." I say. "Wanna see my scar?" I ask, pulling out my phone. I pull up the picture of my scar, showing it to him.

"Yikes, are you okay?" He asks, placing a hand on my shoulder: I nod, pulling out my sketchbook. The bell just rang, allowing students into the building.

"Yeah. Just a little more healing then I'll be good as new." I smile, opening my sketch book.

"Good to hear." He smiles, before Naomi runs in, Like trailing behind her.

"Rae! You're back!" She exclaims, hugging me head. I laugh, nodding.

"You've seen me everyday Nay. Every. Single. Day." I say, as she pouts.

"But it's different. Your in school again!" She exclaims, taking her seat beside me. I roll my eyes, lightly sketching.

"Oh Raelynn!" Mrs. Clark exclaims as I walk into third period. It's completely empty, because she doesn't have a second period.

Carolyn, a girl from my gym, sets my stuff down at the desk I pointed out, before leaving.

"Come give me a hug sweetie." She smiles, enveloping me. I hug her back gently, before I head to my seat.
