"Rae!! Let's go!!" Naomi calls up the stairs. I quickly slide on my converse and grab my phone as I run downstairs. I see Naomi impatiently tapping her foot.
"Just because your an adult now, doesn't mean you're my mom." I say, passing her. She rolls her eyes, meeting up at my side as I push open my front door to see the sky is clouded over. I hope it doesn't rain on Luke's plans. Ha, get it? Rain, on his plan. No? Okay.
"But you were being slow." She whines as I climb into my car. She sits in the passenger seat, with a huff.
"Calm down birthday girl. Let's talk about your date with Luke tonight." I say, changing the subject. Her face lights up as I drove down the street.
"He said we were going on a picnic in the local park! He said he's making an amazing lunch!" She exclaims, her cheeks flushing.
"Great!! Y'all are so cute together." I say, stopping at a red light.
"But what happened between you and Marc last night! Y'all were about to freaking kiss!" She exclaims, when the light turns green. I blush, the memory of last night incident running through my mind.
After Naomi screeched my name, Marcus and I just stood there, staring at each other like we didn't know what we were doing. Thanks to my best friend, she saved me from loosing my first kiss to Marcus at homecoming.
"I don't know. We were lost in the moment and it kinda just happened. I can't really explain it." I sighed, turning into Naomi apartment complex.
"Well, you'll have to tell him how you feel eventually." She said, climbing out. I violently shook my head.
"I don't have feelings for Marc." I said, as we entered and gave a kind greeting to the lady and the desk.
"Hm hum. Sure." She sighed, opening the door to her apartment.
I stepped inside and ogled at it. As soon as you walked in, there was an entry hallway that opened up to a nice living room and an open kitchen. To the right, there was a bathroom and a small bedroom. Tot he left was another hallway leading tot he master room and en suit at the end. On the left of the hallway was an office and the right was a closet and laundry room.
"Nay. It's amazing." I said, amazed. She grins, looking around as well, as if she can't believe it's hers.
"Yep. I went shopping with my mom yesterday because she offered and we got the basic furniture and some decorations. I was going to go shopping next weekend for the rest." She says, sitting on the floor in the middle of the living room. I sit beside her, silently.
"You're starting your next chapter. Without your parents. You're going to be like a mom Nay. You ready?" I finally ask, when's he lenas her head in my shoulder.
"I don't know to be honest. I so so so happy Wyatt and I get to leave my past behind and start fresh, but there so much that comes with this. Bills. Taking care of Wyatt." She sighs. I nod, taking her hand.
"I'll always be here if you need anything. And I mean anything." I reassure her. She nods, appreciatively.
"Tanks Rae. You are the bestest best friend I could ever have." She says, grinning. I smile, looking down at her.
"Tell me something I don't know." I joke.
•NAOMI POV•
We leave the apartments and then head to Raelynn's house so I can get my car and go home. I arrive at my dads house and climb out. When I open the door, Wyatt comes racing towards me.
