Marcus is Raelynn's Best Friend. But the catch is, he is the school's most popular boy. He's known for his amount of girlfriends and b...
"Okay students. Today you will be turning in your unity projects. I trust you all have finished and written your speeches. I can feel my excitement, as Mr. Arce continues on with instructions.
"First up, Rae." He grins at me, as I stand up. I smooth out my dull blue dress and tuck a stray piece of hair behind my ear. I click the button and my art appears on screen.

"Unity." I begin, looking down at my paper, then at my classmates. "The being of whole. The creation of one. Completeness. But unity is so much more than that. Unity is standing behind what you believe in and being there for ones you love. In the image, you see two people linking pinkies. At first glance, it's a couple being cute. But at another glance, you see the wedding ring. Becoming one. At another glance, the linked pinkies. A way to show that you are there for that person, and that you can always be something for them. At final glance, standing behind what you believe in, because you believe in that person. You believe in love that will forever come from that person. You believe, that even though y'all aren't perfect, y'all are still perfect. Unity. Thank you."
I sit down, grinning. Everyone erupts into cheers and applause as I hide my blushing face. • • • • After school, I head to Naomi's apartment, when I walk in, no one is there. I slow down, beginning to look around. I suddenly hear a loud bang, and I want to gag.
"I'm here!" I shout to inform the love birds I have arrived. I sit on her couch, turning on the tv. Naomi and Luke suddenly appear, as Naomi attempts to smooth her hair and Like brushes his shirt down.
"Nice guys. Real nice." I say, rolling my eyes. I see Naomi blush, as she sits beside me, and Luke sits beside her.
"Don't we have a test in Cal tomorrow?" Naomi asks, looking down at my large backpack that looks as if it may explode any second. I sigh, nodding. I run my hand through my hair, when my phone goes off. I pull it out and see a FaceTime request from my dad. My face lights up, swiping across my screen. His face appears, and his amazing smile covers his features.
"Daddy!" I exclaim, and he chuckles.
"Hey sweetie. Where are you?" He asks, noticing I'm not at home. I then remember, he doesn't know about Naomi moving.
"Oh. Right. Nay moves into an apartment." I say, and he nods. "Anyway, how are you." I ask, truly interested. He lets out a long sigh, running his hand through his graying hair.
"It's not looking to good princess." He frowns, and an immediate look of sadness and fear overtakes my face.
"Come home soon." I beg quietly, and he sighs again.
"I'll try beautiful." He simply says, and I would give anything to hug him and kiss him right now. I miss my dad so much. With him being so far away and not being able to call much, makes it hard.
We sit in silence, and Naomi notices that I don't want to sit in silence, as she speaks up.
"Hey Mr. McKnight!" She says, coming into frame, waving. He grins, waving at her.
