With Style: Poetry

Poetry is as varied and diverse as any other form of artistry. We all have our own style of writing poetry that brings out our individuality. However, there are some very specific styles of poetry that provide us with a skeleton to apply our skin to.

Here, each month we are going to learn about different poetry styles and then take on the challenge of writing something in that style.

This is a poetry Challenge not a Contest. You can submit as many poems as you like for each month. If you miss a month, no worries, just send it in whenever you like. If you want to revisit a month you are more than welcome to do that as well.

How it will work...

Each month I will be posting an article on a specific poetry style, its history, how to write in that style and an example of that style.

Then it is up to you to make it your own.

Style of Poetry: Sonnet

Screen Name: (Your Screen Name) (e.g. MystresMyna)

Poem Title: EX. A Love Sonnet

Poem:

All information should be on one message, unless Poem length dictates otherwise.
