Bloom'n Year

Amaryllis, on the sill, signals Spring will surely happen.

Begonia, ancient, patient, waits for warm shade while it's nap'n.

Crocus pops its top up, through mud and ice and snow.

Daffodils trumpet loud "Get ready! Here we go!"

Echinacea sprouts and signals t'will surely bloom this year.

Flannel, flax, and foxglove follow brave forsythia!

Gardenia buds, geranium pops, longside Gladiolus' swell.

Hibiscus heralds hollyhock where the honeysuckle dwells.

Impatiens blanket last year's dirt.

Jasmine quickly starts to root.

Kentucky blue grass seeds my lawn.

Morn'n Glories grace the dawn.

Nasturtium cradles peas and melon.

Oregano and ox-eye mingle.

Petunias pair with rebel roses while

Queen Anne lace flirts with horses.

Ranunculus and Rose-O-Sharon share

Salvia, sedum, and snapdragon haven.

Trillium in deep swamp abides

Under watchful fairy eyes.

Verbena perfumes the Summer sweet and

Windflower blooms in August heat.

Xeranthemum is ready for dried bouquet.

Yarrow blooms till pumpkins frost.

Zinnias, too, hang on - till light and heat are lost.
