Tres Uno Tres - Created by J. Lynne Moore - aka - MystresMyna
The Tres Uno Tres is simple in form, but it takes a bit of time to find the right words to make it work.
Here is the format:
2 - 3-line stanzas separated by a single standalone line.
Each line contains only 3 words with the syllable count of 3-1-3
The structure of the poem mirrors the syllable count of the poem.
Stanzas - 3 lines, 1 line, 3 lines
Words - 3 syllables, 1 syllable, 3 syllables
If you want to add more of a challenge:
- make the first and last stanzas about different subjects and connect them somehow with the single line in-between.
-- or --
- take the first stanza in one direction then twist it with the single line and go in another direction with the last stanza.
Here are my examples:
My Universe
Contemplate my universe
Singular and tremendous
Glorious in magnitude
Blindingly love encircles
Valuable o'er everything
Sacrifice all willingly
Beloved my grandchildren
Fairy-tale
Fantasy in camouflage
Harmony bound blindingly
Rosaceous worn spectacles
Betrayal seen overtly
Misery felt completely
Bitterness drips endlessly
Fairy-tale lost forever
