"Alright, well I guess that's everything," I sighed as I zipped up my bag.
Chris was leaning against the wall in the back lounge, just starring at me. "And you're sure you've got to go? Because if you want, you could stay, come back to Scranton for a few days and hang out with Megan and the guys. She really likes you." Megan's been on the bus for three days, hanging out with the guys... and yes, I was acting like a jealous five year old.
"Wouldn't it be a little weird if you're TM came home with you, Chris?"
He groaned and hit his head against the wall. "That's why you've been acting so weird since we got back?!"
"No Chris, that's not the only reason, it's part of the reason but no, that's not why I'm acting strange," I muttered, slightly insulted by his accusation.
Chris walked up to me and wrapped his arms around me, resting his forehead against mine. "Then tell me. What's wrong?"
"Chris, I"m going to tell you something and baby, you have to promise me that you won't get angry," I warned in advance. He nodded and kissed my cheek. "I s-saw Austin at the t-tattoo studio," I stuttered.
"Are you okay," Chris asked, cocking one of his eyebrows up. "Did he say anything to you?"
I nodded. "I uh, well, I started the conversation with him."
"Oh?"
"Yeah, I'd been thinking about everything lately. You know, about me and Austin and about everything we'd been through. Well, I got to thinking that just because he messed up and hurt me all those times, doesn't wipe out all the times of happiness," I mumbled. "I forgave him."
Chris let go of me and took a step away, he was studying my face intently. "You're acting strange because you forgave your ex?" He suddenly had a smile on his face and let out a laugh.
"Don't mock me," I chuckled. "I was nervous. I know you don't like Austin and I just didn't know how you would respond."
He held out his arms and when I hesitated, he pulled me into his chest again. "You thought I would be mad because you let go of a burden? Baby, if it makes you happier to forgive him, you should. What makes me unhappy is the fact you thought you couldn't tell me."
I nodded and rested my head against his shoulder. "Thanks Chris. But you weren't wrong."
"I wasn't wrong about what?"
"Megan," I mumbled.
He chuckled again, the vibrations in his chest making me smile. "What about her, Pearce?"
"She's really pretty. And really nice. I'm just an average bitch," I muttered. "She's perfect for you and I just started to wonder why you were with me. And then I started thinking you didn't want to be with me anymore because you introduced me as your TM, not you girlfriend. That hurt, Chris."
His arms wrapped around me tighter and his lips pressed gently against the top of my head. "I always knew you were the jealous type," he chuckled. "I think that's sexy."
"Stop," I muttered. "You can't just purr in my ear and make me melt like you usually do."
"Damn," he laughed. "Well, let me tell you, Megan and I are just friends. There is nothing else going on and nothing else will ever go on again. I promise. And yeah, she's pretty and she's the kind of girl that everyone thinks I should be with. Girls like her and Fran are stereotyped as the perfect match for guys like us. But you're not even close to an average bitch, Pearce."
He lifted my chin so that I was looking in his eyes before moving closer and kissing my lips softly. I wrapped my arms around him and let him push me on to the sofa. He positioned his knee between my legs and applied a small amount of pressure, making me moan into the kiss.
