Chapter 34

     I stare at Christina confused then I look over at Tobias who seems as confused as I am.

     "Christina," I say "He is right behind you."

     She looks behind her and just looks around then looks back at me.

     "Tris,what do you mean?I don't see anyone."

     "No no NO!!!" I say standing up "He's right there.He's not dead.If he's dead,why can I see him!?!?!?!"

     She stands up and places her hand on my shoulder and says "Tris,I think you need to sit down."

     "No I don't!!" I yell at her.I take a deep breath to calm myself down and say "Christina,Tobias is not dead.I am looking at him right now."

     "No,Tris, your not. They sent me in here to tell you that he died last night. They also said that if you wanted to....we could go see the body."

     I look down at the floor and think for a moment.If Tobias is dead then that body wont be his.If it isn't then I'm not crazy but Christina didn't see him yet he's standing right behind her.

     "Ok,lets go." I say as I start to head towards the door.

     After we get back to the waiting room,Christina tells a nurse something and she leads us to the morgue in the back.

     The room is dark and has a cold,dead feeling to it.There is only a little light in the room but just enough to give it that dark feeling.

     The nurse unlocks a small iron door in one of the walls and opens it and slides the body out.The body is fully covered by a white sheet so we can't see the face.Before the nurse pulls back the sheet to reveal the face I stop her and ask if I can do it myself.She nods and just leaves the room leaving us alone with all these dead bodies.Creepy.

     I take a deep breath before carefully pulling back the sheet.I nearly fall back onto Christina when I see Tobias' dead body laying there on the table.

     I stand there emotionless for a moment then the tears begin to run down my face.I look down at the floor and try to avoid looking at his body but the image seems to be plastered to my brain.

     I feel someone touch my shoulder and I turn around to see Tobias standing there with a sad look on his face. I slowly raise my hand up to his cheek and brush it carefully.He looks alive and he feels alive but only I see that.

     I look over at Christina who stares at me like I've gone crazy.

     "Tris? Are you alright?"

     "Yeah" I say a little to quickly.

     "I know your lying."

     I nod my head slowly and say "Yeah but I just don't want to talk about it right now.I just want to go back to the apartment and rest." She nods her head and we begin to make our way out the door but before I do I stop and turn around to see Tobias just standing there staring at me still. I mouth the words 'Your apartment's and he nods his head.He walks up to me and kisses me on the lips and vanishes leaving nothing behind.
