Chapter 23

Clem's POV

I held Aj close to me as I walked back to The New Frontier. I finally had my little goofball back, and I was never losing him again.

I stopped to feed Aj, the woman was kind enough to send a bag of supplies with me and I was very appreciative.

I fed Aj his baby food and he started to fall asleep. I put him on my back and continued walking. I started walking faster when I heard groaning.

Lee please protect me...I prayed as I made it to the old car I had hid in before, I quickly got in and held Aj.

I laid back down and when to sleep holding my goofball.

I woke up and the sun was warming my face. I brushed the strands of hair out of my face and sat up.

"C'mon goofball, I wanna sleep in an actual bed tonight." I said and he eagerly raised his hands for me to pick him up.

I got out of the car and picked him up. he giggled and said.

"Yay! Cwemmy is holding mwe!" I smiled and bounced him up and down.

"Yes I am and I love you very much goofball!"

He giggled and said.

"I wove you too Cwem!" I smiled brightly and put him on my back and started walking, I wasn't far from camp now, and now I had to face Gabe...

Gabe's POV

I sighed and sat up, I missed her so much...Its been 2 days...I ran my fingers through my hair as my dad came in.

"Good morning son, I'm gonna get Clem back.." He said and I stared at him in shock.

"What?! Really?! How?!" I asked jumping up.

"I've sent a group to go find her, they'll bring her and Aj back." He said and I nodded.

"Now will you eat?" He asked me and I nodded.

"Just a little, also I'd rather be alone still..." I said and he nodded.

"I'll be right back with your breakfast." He said closing the door behind him.

I smiled, I was getting Clem back! But...What if she hates me..And shes with the father of Aj...

I sighed, why did I have to fall in love with her...I laid back down and stared at my roof, hurry up and come back Clem...Please...

My father came in with a small breakfast and I sat up and ate half of it.

"That's good Gabe." He said and ruffled my hair. "I love you son." He said and I smiled.

"I love you too dad."

Kate's POV

I am so mad at Gabe. I cant believe he said that to me, I wish those walkers would have killed him. Then Javi would love me. He's always been a brat just like his mom. I hope he gets what he deserves, its his fault that Javi's gone.

I paced around the room waiting for Javi to return.

Clem's POV

I continued walking I killed a walker awhile back, I'm hoping that I'm close. I sigh knowing that I cant talk to Gabe...David will kill me..

Then I saw a van approaching I instantly hid and covered Aj's mouth.

The Van stopped and Tripp stepped out.

"Clem? I saw you come out." He said and I came out of hiding and walked over to him.

"Hey Tripp." I said and he smiled and asked.

"Need a ride?"

"Sure." I said and got into the passengers seat and buckled Aj into the back, Tripp brought a car seat and I thanked him.

"So uh Clem I know this is kind of a weird question but is Aj your actual kid..?" He asked and I laughed.

"No! I love him as if he was my own though." I said and looked at Aj and smiled.

Tripp smiled and drove. We passed many walkers he told me it was still a good hour before we would be there so I decided to take a nap.

When I woke up, we were at the gates. I sat up and stepped out and picked up Aj.

"C'mon goofball..." I whispered and held him close. The gates lifted and Gabe stared at me.

He looked awful, his hair was nappy and he was starting to get pale. I put Aj down and he ran up to me and hugged me. I hugged him back tears streaming down my cheeks. He held onto and whispered.

"Even if you don't love me anymore...Ill always love you.."

I blushed and whispered. "I love you too Gabe...I never stopped"

He held me tightly and then he let me go.

"So where's his dad..?" He asked and I replied.

"He died along with his mom." Gabe looked at me confused,while Tripp picked up Aj and took him to Elanor to get supplies for him.

"Wait...You aren't his real mom..?" He asked and I looked at him.

"No! I love him like my own though." I said and he looked angry. "He lied to me...Again..." He said and I sighed and he grabbed my hand and pulled me to his room.

"Clem..My dad told me Aj was yours and that's why you stole the medicine." He said and I sat down on his bed.

"I did steal medicine for Aj, but not because he's mine, hes not really." I said and Gabe kissed me.

I blushed and kissed him back. He slowly pulled away and whispered.

"Never leave me again...I love you too much to lose you..." He cupped my cheek and I stared into his dark brown eyes.

"I wont..." I whispered and kissed him.

Gabe's POV

I smiled and kissed her back, sitting down beside her on the bed. She slowly moved into my lap and I kissed her cheek.

"I love you." I whispered. She blushed and whispered back.

"I love you too."

We kissed again and then we separated as Aj arrived with my dad.

"Oh my god Aj!" Clem said standing up quickly taking him from my dad then examining him.

"I didn't hurt him..." My dad said and I sighed and glared at him.
