Chapter 8-My Angel

Aiden's POV

I come running in the pack hospital. A few pack members greet me along the way and I just dismiss them. I run to where I left my mate to be examined. Dr. Alfred bows his head as a sign of respect.

"How is she? " I speak through my Alpha tone. He seemed a little surprise. "You might want to sit down first Alpha." I just nod and sat down. He does the same too. "Your mate is currently in critical state. She is malnourished and her wolf is too weak to help her heal. "He looks down as if contemplating to tell me something.

"She overdosed on sleeping pills and her body was not able to handle it. That's the cause of her collapsing and her weak pulse. Other than the overdosed pills, she had a high fever which adds up to her condition making it fatal. " I run my hand through my hair. This is all my fault. I couldn't take care of her.

I didn't deserve her. She's an angel while I'm a coward. "Can I see her now?" It was more like an order than a question but I didn't care. I just wanted to see my angel.

"You may go see her but she is not in the best condition and she needs plenty of rest." With that, I walk towards the door of her room. I take a deep breath, preparing myself to see my little angel in her worst state. As I opened the door slowly and closed it with a light noise, I look at my angel and my heart dropped. She was wearing an oxygen mask and there were tubes attached to her. The monitor showing her heart beating was beeping.

I approach and sit down at the chair by her bed.

She had a pale complextion. She couldn't even breathe on her own. It hurts to see her like this. As we are close, the mate bond is stronger than I expected and I could feel her emotions. Mom once told me that being close to your mate will help them heal faster. I hope it works because it's the only way I can help her.

'The presence of our mate calms us down.' My wolf purred. 'Yes, she does.'
I agreed with my wolf. Now I understood what my Dad meant when he used to say how our mate can make us feel calm and special whenever they are around. I love the feeling and it's all thanks to my mate.

With that, I tried to make myself as comfortable as possible, holding her hands. I fell asleep.

A knock woke me up. The nurse looks at me before bowing her head. "I am just going to check on our Luna's condition."I nod and I watch as she checks the monitor and the IV. She takes a thermometer and checks my mate's temperature. After doing the check up, she writes down on the clipboard and bows to me before leaving.

That was probably the best sleep that I have gotten in a while and it was all because of my beautiful mate. I kiss her forehead before leaving. I didn't want to leave her but I had to freshen up and inform my parents about her condition.

Just on cue, Adrian enters the room.

He bows his head and I dismiss him. "Mom and Dad asked whether you wanted to join us for dinner?"He asked me and I nodded."I am going to freshen up first." I said before heading towards the door."Have someone take care of Faye." I give Adrian the order before exiting. I walk towards the pack house.

I enter my bathroom and turned on the water.

After freshening up, I got ready with a simple t-shirt and khaki pants. 'Dinner in 10 mins Alpha.' Adrian said through the mind link. 'I will be right there.' I cut the mind link.

I sighed as I stood outside my parents house. I walk to the living room where Adrian and Dad were seated. "Hey, dad and Adrian." I did a bro handshake with Adrian before sitting down.

"How is your mate?" My father asked.

"Her condition is serious. She has tubes connected to her and even an oxygen mask to help her breathe. The problem is I feel helpless when I see her." I run my hand through my face. I cannot help but feel stressed about my mate's health. "She will get better Son, you have to be patient and as we said, she's a strong person." His words did give me a little reassurance but there is still a lot of doubt in me. Right now, the only thing that can put me at ease is being by her side. "Dinner's ready." Mom comes in the living room. I walk towards her and peck her in the cheek. She gives me a hug in which I gladly return. We walk towards the dining room and I took my place.

All the food that was laid looked appetizing but I was not hungry. All I could think about was Faye. Everyone took their seat and we begin eating. "I heard about your mate Aiden." My sister, Ariana speaks up. "How is she?" She was sincerely worried. "She is currently in a serious condition." I continued eating and ignored the fact that everyone was looking at me. I was not in the mood to talk to anyone. Once we were finished, we sat in the living room together. Everyone was here. Mom, dad, Ariana, Ariana's mate who is also my best friend and beta, Ashton, Adrian and his mate Bella and there's me.

If only my mate was here to keep me company...

"We want to hear about your mate, Aiden." My mom was cautiously asking me. My patience was running out and I told myself to calm down instead I erupted in anger. "DON'T TALK ABOUT MY MATE WHEN I ALREADY TOLD YOU THAT SHE IS IN SERIOUS CONDITION! I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANYBODY TALKING ABOUT MY MATE!" With that, I leave. I couldn't take it anymore when someone keeps asking me the same question.

Thw only person that I want to see is my mate. I wanted her to help me calm down.

I walk angrily towards her room and found that a warrior was standing outside. At least, Adrian knows how to obey my orders. The warrior bows his head towards me and I enter.

The moment my nose catches her scent, I cool off. I peck her on the cheek before sitting down. Her presence made me feel secure and comfortable. The effects she has on me was amazing and I wanted her by my side for as long as I live. I will make sure of that.

"I will never leave you again. I will not let you suffer by yourself again. I will take care of you and love you. I will find those who made you suffer and torture them. I will make sure they don't see the light in the day but pure darkness. Just, please wake up." My pleas were only returned with the monitor beeping.

A knock on the door made me sit up straight."Oh, Alpha, you are here." Dr. Alfred bows before entering. He checks on Faye and I try my best to not growl. "I have to speak with you for a moment." Dr. Alfred anxiously says. I stood up, giving Faye a kiss on the forehead before leaving.

"What is it?" I firmly said. "The Luna,  she has scars on her body while I examined. Not only that but she seemed to have gotten pregnant once based on the blood test." I calmly took deep breaths. "I think the scars were from abuse but I am not too sure about her pregnancy. Her scent was mixed with another male but there is a possibility of rape. I am sorry Alpha." He bows his head and walks away. My mate was abused? Anger grew in me and I know both my wolf and I were furious. Who dare lay a hand on my precious mate!

I am going to kill those fucking jerks!They will die when I find them! 'Ashton, come to my office now.' I order through the link and immediately cut it off.

I am going to kill those bastards when I find them!
