Trigger Warning: mentions of self harm.
Move in day was surprisingly great for Lauren. However the following day was far from great. Somehow her mother found out that she made her way to college and like a fucking giant zit she was back to ruin Lauren's life.
"I just don't understand how you can just up and leave me like this Lauren! I thought I raised you better than that!"
Lauren rolled her eyes at her mother's slurred speech. She was drunk again. Even though this wasn't surprising it was disappointing because Lauren knows that once Clara is sober she won't remember this conversation at all. In fact she forget the way she forgot Lauren's sixteenth birthday.
"Honestly Liam was right! You're nothing but an ungrateful, spoiled little bitch! I really wish I never had you."
Lauren shakes her head "believe me mother I know. You say it all the time." She says calmly. Clara chuckled "well it's true! If I didn't have you I could be happy and not miserable because I have to take care of a girl that's too stupid to take care of herself. I should've let Liam get rid of you when I had the chance!" She spat.
Lauren sighs "as much as I love this conversation I have to go. My roommate wants me to meet someone." She says. "Before you hang up let me tell you that you no longer have a place to live. I'm done Lauren. I'm done with you." With that said the phone cut off. Rolling her eyes Lauren shut off her phone and stood up from the floor. Looking down at the band aid on her wrist Lauren shook her head in disappointment. It's only been a few days and she was already cutting herself. She felt stupid for thinking that leaving for college would stop her from cutting herself but it's barely been seventy-two hours and she already broke her week long clean strike and it was all because of her mother. Clara always had a way of making her feel more worthless with every word she spoke. Unfortunately the only way for Lauren to cope with the pain her mother gave her was to cut herself. No it wasn't the best way but it was all she had. Back home she didn't have anyone to talk to so she took her anger out on herself. What made her think being at college would be any different? It probably wasn't.
"Lauser Ally, Mani and I are heading to La'Boes. Wanna come?" Dinah asked.
Lauren shook her head "uh not tonight. I think I'm going to stay in and read." She said quietly. Dinah nods "well if you wanna join call Manz to come pick you up. See you later Lauser!" She says before walking out. It's only been a few days but Dinah and her friends were the best people Lauren has met so far. They were a lot more understanding with her than most people. In fact most people would rule her off when she denied going out every night, but Dinah, Normani and Ally didn't. They continued to be nice to her no matter how weird she was. Maybe she should take them up on their offer of going out.

Sitting at a table by herself Normani was a little down because of the fact that Lauren wasn't here. She was slightly disappointed because she really wanted to get to know Lauren and she thought tonight was her night to get to know the girl but unfortunately she was wrong. With a small huff Normani decided to pull out her phone and text the girl.
Normani: hey.
Lauren: hello
Normani: so what are you doing?
Lauren: nothing, really. Just reading.
Normani shakes her head as a smile formed on her face.
Normani: I'm coming over and you and I are going to hang out.
Lauren rolls her eyes as a small chuckle left her lips.
Lauren: fine by me.
Grabbing her things Normani headed over to Dinah and Ally to tell them that she was leaving. With a small roll of her eyes Normani chuckled when she saw her two friends making out. "Could you guys stop making out for a second so I can tell you something." Pulling away from each other the two girlfriends looked at their friend. "What's up Mani?" Ally asked. "I just wanted to tell you guys I'm gonna leave." Normani says. Dinah raised an eyebrow "why?" She asked. Normani blushed "I'm going to hang out with Lauren." She answered. Dinah and Ally looked at each other before smirking at their friend. "Well Mani have fun. Make sure to use protection and don't forget get to tell us all about it." Dinah says. The dark skinned girl rolls her eyes "I'm not going to sleep with her. I barely know her. I'm just going to talk to her, get to know her better." Normani says. Both girls nodded unconvincingly. "Well anyways have fun." Ally said before going back to making out with her girlfriend. Rolling her eyes Normani shakes her head as she left the club. Let's hope things with Lauren are better.

A soft knock on the door had Lauren marking her page and getting up to answer the door. "I wouldn't have pegged you for someone who wore glasses Jauregui." Normani chuckles as she walked inside "you look cute with glasses." Lauren bows her head as a small blush formed on her cheeks at Normani's compliment. "Oh uh thanks Kordei." She mutters.
With a tiny giggle Normani takes a seat on Lauren's bed. "So why didn't you come to the club tonight?" She asked curiously. Lauren shrugged as she sat next to the ebony beauty "I just wasn't feeling it. I kinda just wanted to stay in tonight." She says. "So you're a home body?" Normani questioned. Lauren nods a little but before she could answer their was a loud knock on the door.
With an annoyed huff Lauren excused herself to go answer the door. Upon opening the door Lauren's heart dropped into her stomach when she saw who was at the door. "Liam."
