Normani took everything in that Lucy was telling her. "So how long has this date been set up?" She asked. Lucy smirks "a while now. We've been texting back and forth since the day she choose you over me, but seeing as she's going on a date with me looks like I won." She giggled smugly.

Normani wasn't stupid she could see right through Lucy's bullshit lies, but she wanted to mess with her. "Wow that's-that's really interesting." She said. "I think I need to talk to Lauren." Lucy's smirk grew wider "do that, but when you do don't get surprised when she choose me...again." She jabbed. Normani bit her tongue and plastered on a fake smile before leaving the school as quickly as possible.

Sitting on the couch Lauren was reading her favorite book while her mother watched some weird lifetime movie that was on when the door opened. Looking up Lauren smiles when she saw Normani. "Hey Manibear!" She joyfully greeted as she stood up and hugged the older girl.

As bad as she was trying to keep up her fake mad act seeing Lauren practically light up when she saw her made Normani break out in a wide smile. She just couldn't stay mad at her. "Hey Lo, can we talk?" She asked softly. Lauren nodded as she led Normani towards the kitchen. "What's up Mani?"

Normani sighed as she looked up at Lauren. "Lucy came up to me after class and told me that you guys were going out on a date tonight." She tells her. The way Lauren's face fell Normani knew that her assumptions that Lucy was full of it was true. "Actually she came to me today and told me that she knew someone who could donate a kidney to my mother...but she would only let them donate if I went out with her. However after talking about it to my mom I denied her." She explained.

Normani gave her a sympathetic look as she gently wrapped her arms around Lauren and kissed her forehead. "Lo I know it's hard but I'm here for you. I love you babe." She said. Lauren looked up at her and smiles slightly "I love you too Manibear. So much."

If it was one thing that Lauren hated the most it was waiting for test results. The agony of waiting made her skin crawl because all she wanted were the answers and they were taking forever to come. As the minutes ticked by the more and more anxious she got. She just wanted answers already.

"Baby are you ok?" Normani asked gently.

Lauren shook her head "no I'm feeling anxious and all I want is answers." She said. Normani nodded as she wrapped her arms around the sad girl and held her close. "Lo I know you're scared but you have to think of the positives babe." She tells her. Lauren sighed as she rests her head on Normani's shoulder. "Yeah you're right." She said quietly. Normani kissed her forehead and hugged Lauren tightly as they waited for the doctor.

"Ok so I have gotten the test results back and your mother's kidneys doing better. Nothing out of the ordinary. However she should drink more water." The doctor said.

Lauren felt like should could breath again when the doctor said that. "So she's ok?" The doctor nodded "yes she's going to be fine. She still will need dialyses but other than that she's fine." He said. Lauren nodded "well that's good."

Arriving back at her mom's apartment Lauren decided to go get dinner ready. "Lo? Baby are you ok?" Normani asked, gently wrapping her arms around Lauren's waist. Lauren nodded "of course! Why wouldn't I be?" She questioned. Normani raised an eyebrow "because you just poured a third of a cup of salt into the pot." She pointed out.

Mumbling under her breath Lauren dumped out the salt and started over. "I'm sorry it's just-Mani I'm just really worried about my mom. Yeah, I know she getting better, but I just can't help but think about the what ifs." She explained. Normani nodded "I get that baby but we have to think of the positives. Your mom's going to be ok." She said comfortingly. Lauren smiled and gently kiss Normani. "Thank you so much Mani. I love you."
