I walk to the bedroom and grab a change of clothes, I walk to the bathroom and take a quick shower. I get out and put my hair up in a ponytail, I do my makeup and get dressed. I look at the tests and see that they're negative, I throw them away and walk out of the bathroom.
J: Are they ready?
A: Yeah. I already looked at them.
J: Was it positive or negative?
A: Negative.
Joey looks down.
J: Oh.
I hug him and he hugs me back.
A: It's okay Joey. We just have to keep trying.
J: I know. I just got excited.
A: It's okay. I got kind of excited too. I'm sorry it didn't work this time baby.
J: It's okay. All we can do is try again.
I smile and Joey smiles back at me, my phone starts ringing. I walk to the kitchen and see that Charles's phone is calling, I answer it.
A: Hello?
C: Hi Ava.
A: Hi Charles. What are you doing?
C: Can you go to the hospital?
A: Why?
C: Dad is there and he's not doing to good.
A: What happened?

C: Thomas was with him at the house and he started having like a seizure or heart attack so he called an ambulance and Dad is at the hospital.
A: Okay. I'm on my way.
C: Okay.
I hang up and quickly slide on shoes, I grab my car keys.
J: Where are you going?
A: To the hospital.
J: Why? What's wrong?
A: Charles just called me and my Dad had like a seizure or a heart attack and he's not doing to good.
J: Do you want us to come with?
A: Not right now. Can you just stay here with the boys and if I need you I'll call you?
J: Yeah.
A: Okay.
Joey walks over to me and kisses me, I kiss him back and leave. I walk outside and get in my car and start driving to the hospital, I get there 20 minuets later and walk to the front desk.
Nurse: Hi. How can I help you?
A: I'm looking for Neil Gitnick.
Nurse: Okay. Are you family?
A: Yeah. I'm his daughter.
Nurse: Okay. He is in room 213.
A: Okay. Thank you.
Nurse: No problem.
I start walking to the room, when I open the door I see Charles and Thomas by his side talking to him. I walk in and stand by Charles.
A: Hi Dad.
Dad: Oh hi Ava. It's good to see you.
A: It's good to see you too. How are you feeling?
Dad: I could be better. Where are those kids of yours and where's Joey?
A: They're at home.
Dad: Can they come here? Charles family is already on the way and Thomas has his girlfriend on her way.
A: When did you get a girlfriend?
Thomas: 2 years ago. I just never told anyone.
A: Oh.
I grab my phone and call Joey, he answers on the 2nd ring.
J: Hi Babe.
A: Hi Joey. Can you bring the boys? My Dad wants to see you guys.
J: Yeah. We're on our way.
A: Okay. Love you.
J: Love you too.
Joey hangs up.
A: They're on their way Dad.
Dad: Okay.
15 minuets go by.
C: Hey Ava, can I talk to you?
A: Yeah.
Charles grabs my arm and brings me out to the hallway.
C: The doctors said that Dad wont live longer then a month.
A: W-what do you mean?
C: He has lung cancer and he's at stage 4 and he's not expected to live longer then 1 month.
A: O-oh.
C: Joey's here.
I turn around and see Joey walking towards me with Mason and Kaiden, he hugs me and I hug him back and lay my head on his chest. Tears start welling in my eyes.
J: Why don't you guys go see your grandpa with Uncle Charles.
M: Okay. Come on Kaiden.
The twins grab Charles's hands and they walk inside the room, Joey sits against the wall. He grabs my wrist and pulls me down between his legs so my back is pushed against his chest, he wipes me tears and wraps his arms around my waist. I lay my head on his shoulder so I'm facing the side of his neck.
J: I'm sorry Babe. Just spend as much time with him as you can.
A: I know. I'm just going to miss him a lot.
J: I know.
Joey moves his head and kisses me, I kiss him back.
J: Do you want to go back in the room and see him?
A: Yeah.
Me and Joey stand up and walking into the room and go stand by Kaiden and Mason
Dad: Hi Joey.
J: Hi Mr. Gitnick.
Dad: You know you can call me Neil, right?
J: Yeah.
Joey stands behind me and grabs my waist, he lays his head on my shoulder. We talk for a few more hours, Charles left a little bit ago.
Thomas: Do you want me to take Kaiden and Mason with me tonight?
A: Mason, Kaiden.
K: What?
A: Do you want to go spend the night with Uncle Thomas tonight?
M: Yeah. He let's have ice cream before bed.
Thomas: Shh.
Dad: *Laughs* They ratted you out.
K: I didn't. Mason did.
Thomas: *Laughs* Cmon.
M: Bye mommy. Bye daddy.
A: Bye babies.
Thomas grabs their hand and they leave.
A: Dad?
Dad: Yeah sweetie?
A: Can I ask your opinion on something?
Dad: Yeah of course.
A: Okay. Me and Joey were thinking the other day.
Dad: And?
A: What do you think about me and Joey having another baby?
Dad: Are you pregnant again?
A: No but we're trying. What do you think?
Dad: Well I think it's a good idea but it really matters what you guys think of it. I think it's great idea that you guys are trying to build your family and make it a bit bigger.
I smile and I feel Joey smile against my neck.
