J-Hope (Pt. 2)

The next day, you woke up early to take a shower. It was your day off so you made plans with Hoseok. You didn't know why you were so nervous. After blow drying your hair and getting dressed, you walked out of the apartment and began to walk to the pier. You sat down on one of the benches and waited.

About another five minutes, your eyes wandered off to a guy getting closer to you. You realized that it was Junhyun. What is he doing here?

"Hey (y/n), what are you doing here?", he asked with a smile on his face.

"Hey Junhyun. I'm waiting for someone. What are you doing here?", you asked.

"I'm volunteering at the festival", he answered.

"Festival? What festival?", you asked, surprised at the fact that there was a festival and you didn't even know.

"The one at the end of the beach. You wanna go with me?", he asked.

"Uh..actually..I'm already gonna hang out with someone. Sorry", you apologized, probably sounding rude.

He bit his lip, embarrassed that he got turned down twice already. You felt bad but it's not like you're lying to him.

"(Y/n)!"

You heard your name being called out from behind you. When you turned around, Hoseok was walking towards you, a smile forming on his face.

"Hey Hoseok", you smiled back.

Hoseok noticed the guy that was next to you, smile disappearing as he thought the relationship between you two.

"Hoseok, this is Junhyun. He works at the store across from my work. Junhyun, this is Hoseok", you said as you introduced them to each other.

Junhyun didn't quite like the fact that you turned him down to hang out with another guy. He felt uncomfortable actually. Both of them stared each other down, wondering what they had going on with you.

"(Y/n), I'm gonna be late. But I'll see you soon?", Junhyun softly smiled at you, making you blush a little.

You quietly watched as he walked away. Hoseok noticed and waved a hand over my face, causing me to shake my head.

"So..where are we going?", you asked curiously.

"To the festival. There's one happening at the beach", he said.

"You know too? Does everyone know except me?", you asked.

"I guess so. Let's go", he nudged you as he showed a smile.

It took about five minutes when you arrived at the festival. Your mouth gaped open at the amount of rides and games there were. You can't really say that you've been to a festival before because you haven't and Hoseok knew that. That's probably why he thought it was a good idea to come here.

You observed the area around you, trying to figure out what you wanted to do first. Then the roller coaster on your right caught your attention. Hoseok's eyes followed yours and gulped at the sight. He doesn't really like roller coaster but since you want to get on, he had to man up and go on with you.

You sat in the front, jumping excitedly in your seat as the safety bar was pulled back to keep you from falling off. Hoseok looked a little nervous and his body was tensed up.

You placed your hand over his, hesitating a bit and smiled at him. He smiled back and intertwined your hands together.

During the ride, Hoseok yelled so loud that you couldn't hear anyone else screaming. The ride wasn't even that fast.

You continued to get on the rides and play a few games until you got hungry. You ordered hot dogs with hot cheese on top. It was really good. Then you two were in the mood for cotton candy.

You shared a pink cotton candy as you sat on the sand of the beach, staring at the ocean before you.

"So what have you been doing all these years?", he asked.

"Well I finished college a few weeks ago. All I'm doing now is working", You answered with a piece of the fluffy candy stuck between your index finger and thumb.

"That's nice..so...that guy I met earlier..is that your boyfriend?", he asked as he stared at the ocean.

Your cheeks flushed. You didn't expect him to ask that question.

"No. He's not", you answered.

"But you want him to be", he said nonchalantly.

Your face turned towards him, noticing the soft smile on his face. Why would he get that idea? And why would he ask?

"I can tell you really like him. Have you told him?", he asked.

You felt a bit uncomfortable talking about it with him since you were an item for eight months. You don't want to upset him or anything. You don't want to upset anyone.

"It's okay. You can say you like him. You don't have to be afraid of your feelings. I've hurt you and you've hurt me. But that was a long time ago. We still share great memories. We'll always have that. But now you have to go make new memories with someone else. Someone who has the time for you. Someone who'll love you more than I did. I'll always love you and you know that. But we're done with that chapter", he said.

You were quite surprised from what he said. You were trying to think about what to say but nothing would come out of your mouth. He must have noticed how quiet you got. The chuckle that came out of his mouth shook you out of your trance.

"If you like him, like I know you do, what are you doing here with me? Go get him or you'll regret it in the future", he laughed.

"But-"

"Don't worry about me. I'll be fine. We'll still be friends", he smiled, causing you to return it.

You kissed him on the cheek and hugged him before running back to the festival. You looked around desperately, hoping to see Junhyun. Just when you were about to lose hope, you see him folding up chairs near the white building. You walk over to him, feeling your heart race.

"(Y/n)? What are you doing here?", Junhyun asked.

"Um..Well I was wondering if...you wanna go out with me sometime?", you asked.

"Huh..actually..I thought about what you said yesterday and you were right. I don't want to jeopardize our friendship either", he said, crushing your excitement.

"..oh..okay...that's fine", you said, forcing your lips to make a smile.

You turned to walk away but Junhyun called out for you.

"(Y/n)..I was just kidding", he said, laughing.

"Oh..hahahaha", you laughed awkwardly, blushing in embarrassment.

"Of course I'll go out with you. There's nothing more I want than you..I mean..that came out wrong..Uh..I'll shut up now", he chuckled nervously.

You placed a kiss on his cheek, causing both of you to blush. You waited until he was done volunteering and walked you home.

Although you expected him to kiss you before he left, he explained how he wanted to be a gentleman and wait until he took you out to a nice dinner. You understood and bid farewell.

As you laid down on your bed, you thought about the amazing memories you had with Hoseok. You still couldn't believe that he talked you into asking Junhyun out. You would've thought he would tell you to stay away from him. Either way, you had to thank him the next time you see him.

If you are in a toxic relationship where all there is is arguing and cheating, break up with them. You deserve better. Everyone deserves someone who loves them and only them, no one else. If they are cheating on you, that is not love. Don't keep putting yourself in that same spot of hurt. And if you want to stay single so you could focus on yourself, even better. Just be careful and choose your decisions wisely❤️
