It's been seven years since you moved to study abroad. It was an amazing experience and you've had the chance to explore different cultures. You moved back home almost over two months ago, spending the time catching up with your close friend Jungkook. You've been best friends since yours moms were pregnant. Our moms are best friends but hardly had the chance to spend time with each other.
Jungkook immediately recommended for you to apply to be his groups make up artist. You couldn't turn down the offer. Apparently he has been talking about you to his manager which made it easier for them to hire you since you were comfortable.
His manager gave the group a week off so they can rest up. Jungkook invited you to spend the weekend at his grandma's house. You haven't seen her in a long time so you thought it'd be nice.
"Is your room still the same?", you asked Jungkook while you stared out the window.
"No. I visited my grandma months ago and had to change everything", he answered.
You've been on the road now for almost an hour. Usually it takes two hours to get to his grandma's house but you were half an hour away.
"When I told my grandma that you were coming with me, she got excited. She misses you", Jungkook chuckled.
"Aww, I miss her too. I remember she baked a really good cake for my 10th birthday. Her cooking never fails to impress me", you smiled.
Jungkook made a right turn, exposing an amazing view that you hadn't seen in years. You remember a tree that you loved looking at, even took some pictures. He noticed you were getting anxious as you looked out the window.
"The tree isn't there anymore. It caught on fire not too long ago", he said.
You pouted and sat back down correctly. You tapped your fingers on your thigh as Jungkook pulled up onto the driveway. You grabbed your bag and headed towards the door. Jungkook knocked, smiling at you after.
"Jungkook, you're here already. And what do we have here? A gorgeous girl who I haven't seen in forever. Look at you (y/n), you got more beautiful than the last time I saw you", his grandma said, smiling in delight.
"Thanks. It's so good to see you again", you chuckled, giving her a hug.
"Well come on in, I'm making lunch", she said, stepping aside.
You placed your bag on the couch, mouth wide open as you admired the living room.
"I'm gonna go put your bag in the guest room", Jungkook said as he headed down the hallway.
You sat down on the couch, smiling as Jungkook's grandma sat next to you. She hadn't aged a bit. She still looks so young.
"So how was it being in another country? I bet you missed your family", she said.
"Yeah I missed them but they didn't want me to miss an opportunity like that. It was actually quite difficult learning a new language. I kept getting frustrated but after two months I met up with a tutor and I've gotten better after that", you said.
"It must have been scary to not have Jungkook there. He would always protect you from anyone who's mean to you. Was anyone mean to you?", she asked.
"Not exactly. Some would have attitude but I handled it", you said.
"That's good. You're such a strong girl. Now tell me, any boyfriends?", she asked with her eyebrow raised.
"No...I mean I did have one but it didn't work out", you said.
"Hm, I'm so sorry dear. I'm sure you'll meet someone who's right for you", she smiled.
Jungkook returned from putting the bags away. All three of you headed towards the table so you could eat. It hasn't even been five minutes as you heard a knock coming from the door.
"I wonder who that could be", Jungkook's grandma said.
Jungkook went over to open the door. His eyes widened as he saw a familiar girl standing in front of him.
"Ara, what are you doing here?", he asked.
"Hey, I heard you were visiting. Can I come in?", she asked.
He stood aside, letting her pass by him. She smiled as soon as she saw Jungkook's grandma But was confused when she saw you.
"Who's this?", she asked.
"This is (y/n)", he responded.
"Oh! I've heard so much about you. It's finally nice to meet you", she smiled, shaking your hand excitedly.
"I wish I could say the same", you said, raising an eyebrow.
"I'm Ara. Jungkook must have mentioned me at some point. Anyways, I'm glad you're here. You promised me you would go with me to fix the treehouse. My brother is getting very impatient", she said to Jungkook.
"Now isn't the time. (Y/n) is here", Jungkook said.
"Oh well she's welcome to come with us if she wants", she smiled towards you.
Everyone looked over at you, making you feel uncomfortable.
"Um no that's fine. You two should go", you said.
"Are you sure? I can stay if you want me to", Jungkook said to you.
"I'm fine. I'll stay here with grandma. You go have fun", you said.
"Okay. I'll be back soon", he smiled before Ara grabbed his hand to pull him out of the house.
You silently sighed and continued eating your food. Jungkook's grandma noticed you got quiet so she spoke up.
"Jungkook said you're their groups make up artist now. You think you can do a little make over on me?", she asked.
You smiled and nodded, remembering you brought your make up kit. After lunch, you prepared her skin before putting on the makeup. While doing that, she brought up a conversation that made you think.
"I'm sure you're wondering who that girl is right? That's his ex girlfriend. Their relationship lasted for three years. It was serious. They were madly in love", she said.
"What happened?", you asked while doing her eyeshadow.
"Her parents wanted them to marry and have kids. Jungkook wasn't comfortable with that so they ended their relationship. They're still friends but she wants to get back with him. But don't worry, they broke up two years ago and he has no interest in her anymore if you want to know", she said.
"Why would you assume I want to know?", you asked her.
"Because you have feelings for my grandson. The way you look at him, it's the same look I have my husband", she said.
You stopped doing her makeup and just kept looking at her. She gave out a laugh and realized you got nervous.
"Sweetie, it's okay to admit you have feelings for him. I'm sure he feels the same way but you won't know that I you don't talk to him. How long have you been feeling this way?", she asked.
"I don't know. I mean, I started feeling something when I was eight but I didn't think it would be something like that", you said.
"Hm, just think about it. Besides, I like you better than her", she said, causing you to chuckle.
