Chapter 21

Beatrice POV:

I groan and open my eyes to see a pretty nurse sitting next to me.
"You're awake. That's good. How you feeling, sunshine?" The nurse asks me.
"Not to good." I reply.
"Well let me give you some medicine. My name is Beatrix."
"That's pretty close to my name. Mine is Beatrice."
Beatrix laughs and hands me a little cup full of a red liquid.
I drink it in a gulp and gag.
"Ew." I say.
I groan again.
"You have visitors." Beatrix says. "Do you want to see them?"
"Can you help me sit up first, please?"
"Sure."
She supports my weight as I sit.
"Thank you." I say.
She smiles and opens the door.
My parents and Caleb walk in.
"Beatrice. We're sorry we didn't pay attention to you or Caleb. We were so caught up in our own business, we couldn't pay attention to you two." My dad says.
"We're really sorry." My mom adds.
They hug me and I hug back.
Caleb hugs me and they all walk out.
Toby runs in.
"Bea, are you okay?" He asks concern.
"Yea. Toby I'm fine." I say smiling and he smiles back.
He grabs my hand and our fingers intwine.
"So guessed what you missed?"
"What?"
"Angeline and Danielle went to a farm and Angeline fell in goat 'mud.'"
I begin laughing and Tobias joins in.
"We're so mean." I say.
"No. We're just special."
"Same different."
We begin laughing again and Caleb walks back in the room.
"What are we laughing about?" Caleb asks.
"Angeline falling in goat 'mud.'" I say.
We start laughing again and my mom snaps a picture of us.
This one is definitely going in the scrapbook.
