AN: Happy Hearts Day 💕

Glaiza's POV

"Momma.. uhm.. of course you know I'll be turning 18 this year, right? uhmm" panimula ni Scarlet.

Naka upo kami sa couch at malambing na nakaakap siya sa akin. May gusto daw kasi siyang sabihin eh. Alam ni Rhian kung ano ito pero ayaw niya rin sabihin sa akin, mainam daw na ang anak namin mismo ang magsabi. Gaya ng mommy nila, si Red at Scarlet ganito rin ang ginagawa pag may gustong hilingin or may sasabihin na baka di ko sang-ayunan.

"Momma.. Can I.." Scarlet said slowly and softly.

"Anak, boyfriend ba? gusto mo bang pumayag ako na magkaboyfriend ka na? Or baka naman meron na?" I blurted. Eh di na rin ako magkamayaw sa kaba sa sasabihin ng anak ko eh.

Agad na inalis niya ang kanyang mga kamay na nakayakap at humarap sa akin.

"Ma, It's not about that.. And I don't have a boyfriend. Why would you even think I have one.. Ma, are you doubting me?" nakakunot ang kanyang noo.

Timing naman na dumating si Rhian dala ang tray ng snacks at linapag ito sa glass table bago umupo sa tabi ni Scarlet.

"Mommy, do you also think I have a boyfriend?" tanong niya kay Rhian.

"Honestly, I don't, bubby. But please listen to your Momma first." sabi ni Rhian at hinagkan ang noo ng anak namin kaya sumunod naman ito at humarap ulit sa akin.

"Scarlet, sorry if I sound as if I'm doubting you. Malaki naman ang tiwala ko sayo... Pero I saw something last night when I went to your room to say goodnight. It's a piece of paper lying on the floor and I know it has your handwriting.. Baby, what is this about?" I said and got the piece of paper out of my pocket and hand it to her.

She looked at it and sighed then finally her lips formed a sly smile.

"New Rules?? Momma, yes. I wrote this but it doesn't mean it's about me or I really wrote it for myself. Those are just lyrics.. I got the idea from Auntie Kate, she told me about the rules you had. Well I changed it basing on what some girls in school talk about, you know, girl talk. That's what I wanted to tell you. I wanted to ask you if you'll finally allow me to join the music industry when I turn 18. I've been writing and composing a lot and I really love performing.. so I really hope you'd allow me... But again, I don't have a boyfriend." Scarlet explained.

"Yes love, that's what she wanted to tell you. But you wanted to ask her about the paper you found, right? Kaya I thought it would be better if you guys could talk it out yourselves" Rhian told us.

I moved closer to our daughter and pulled her into an embrace and kissed her forehead.

"I'm really sorry baby. Sorry if naging OA at nagduda si Momma. But are you sure you want to?" I asked her.

"I am 100% sure Ma. You know naman po na matagal ko na tong dream. Pleaaaaase let me. Promise, I'll still do my best in school." Scarlet asserted.

I looked at Rhian, and she nodded. Napagusapan at napapayag na naman ako pero nagaantay lang kami na humingi ng permiso ulit si Scarlet. Bata pa lang kasi nahiligan na din niya talaga ang pagkanta sa harap ng maraming tao.

"If that's what you really want then okay, Mommy and I will let you. But with certain conditions, we'll talk about them after your birthday. Okay, anak?"

"Yesssss! Thank you Momma and Mommy." Scarlet exclaimed and kissed our cheeks and hugged us.

"Baby, I know minsan I can be strict and tell you, you can't have boyfriends.. or girlfriends yet. Pero anak, if you already have someone you love pwede mo naman sabihin sa amin ni mommy mo. Promise susubukan kong di maging OA sa reactions ko and tatanggapin ko. I don't want you to keep secrets just because you think magagalit kami or ano.." sabi ko sa anak namin.
