CHAPTER 21: SURPRISE

Rhian's POV

I didn't stay at the hotel as what I had intended to do. Sumama nalang ako kina Dad pabalik sa bahay nila where Miracle was staying, for the mean time, while we were at the wedding. I told my parents I've decided to leave the country with my daughter for a while. I need it, to take a break and maybe reflect on things. I didn't tell them anything and they didn't ask me any questions but I'm sure they know it has something to do with Glaiza.

I just don't know what to feel or do anymore. Seeing Glaiza so close after all these years is not helping me. I feel so vulnerable. Lalo na ngayon, since she's already part of the industry and belongs to the group of elites, alam kong one of these days magkikita kami ulit. Honestly, I don't really know how I'd react the next time I see her. Those three times I saw her, I only ended up crying. I also didn't like what I did to her, nung nasampal ko siya. Kahit galit ako sa kanya pero ayokong maulit yun. There's really no excuse for what I did. I need a break from the chaos in my head and my emotions.

"Happy Birthday Mommy Whi. I weally weally wubb you. Tito Addy help me make birthday card and buy gift for you." Miracle woke me with a kiss and hugged me.

Pinakita niya sakin ang cute cute na birthday card na gawa nila. Sa bedside may nakapatong na bouquet at tatlong boxes ng gift. Mamaya ko nalang bubuksan ang mga yun.

"I wubb you too bubby. Thank you very much." I said and sat. I carried brought her to my lap and kissed her then hugged her tightly.

"Mommy you squish me." reklamo niya kaya tumatawa akong linuwagan ang akap ko sakanya.

"Mommy, Bawcelona is momma favorite place, wight?" she asked out of the blue.

"Yes bubby."

She stopped and paused for a while before speaking.

"Why momma not here? Momma don't wubb Mommy and Scawlet anymow?" Tanong niya na may konting kunot sa noo at naka pout ang cute niyang lips.

Well, this is not the first time she asked me that. I am partly to blame. Eversince she was born, I told her about Glaiza, that she has two moms instead of a dad. Miracle's a smart kid kaya naiintindihan niya naman. Lagi niyang tinatanong saan ang momma niya pero lagi ko sinasabing nasa ibang bansa and super busy kaya she can't be with us. But I always told Miracle that Glaiza loved us.

I was always so sure of my answer pero ngayon parang hindi na.

I caressed my daughter's cheek and looked at her round eyes.

"Your momma loves you very much, Miracle. She can't come here because she's very busy and she has many things to do. You see her naman sing on TV and in my phone, diba?"

"Opo. But Mommmmmy tell momma I want to see momma. You always say momma is busy. I miss momma. Pleeaaaase mommy. Pweaaase "

Galing man siya kay Glaiza pero mukhang sakin talaga niya nakuha ang ugali niya. She can be so persuasive.

I know this day would come when she would ask me to see her momma. Dati lagi niya lang hinahanap but since she's growing up, now she finally insists on seeing her. Ipagdadamot ko ba yun, knowing na nakabalik na si Glai?

"Okay Miracle. Soon. You will see your momma soon." I told her.

"Amigah ano balak mo diyan sa asawa mong may pusong bato? Stalk stalk nalang? Mag tatatlong buwan na yun nasa ibang bansa ah. Maypa "since I left you" pa noong nasa Australia. Halatang ikaw ang pinaparinggan eh at hindi yung ex niya."
