To say that the place they were currently in now was unsettling was an understatement. However, to say that the twins were incredibly captivated by all the weaponry would be an even bigger one.
"Ballista. Razor nets. Catapults! Ballista!" For Heather, Astrid and the twins, they had the task of observing the ships that came and left the west side of the island. Obviously, there were many other ports on the island, but, this was where they were for the time being. There weren't many decent places that would fit to hide three dragons, so, they stayed with their riders as they snuck around the area, watching as several imprisoned dragons were loaded onto each ship before sailing off into the night. However, dragons weren't the only things exchanged on this port. Huge contraptions would be offloaded from the ships to the shoreline where trappers would then proceed to move away from the beach and towards the forest that started a few metres away from the sand. In addition to that, these weapons weren't what anyone was used to seeing. There were some they recognised, which was what the twins were naming, but in the end, there was a lot that no one knew about, let along what they did. This stock of weapons pushed aside into the woods was where the riders were now and it was what the twins were drooling over, much to Astrids and Heathers aggravation.
"These people may be horrible, but they sure know their weaponry," Ruff said, "most of this stuff I have never seen in my life,"
"It's truly an art," Tuffnut followed.
"Can you two stop gawking over these weapons," Astrid finally cut in, looking over her shoulder to tell them this before shifting her eyes to the path ahead of her.
"And could you please keep the volume down too. We don't want even one guard to be on our backs. Especially in a place like this," Heather followed on, immensely worried about the amount of noise the twins were making and fearful that that would lead to their capture. However, the twins thought otherwise and looked at each other like they had just been gravely insulted.
"Why do they always have to take the fun out of everything," Tuff muttered under his breath at a volume that allowed only his sister to hear, "we weren't even being that loud. Admit it,"
"It's one of life's many cruelties, bro," Ruff responded, "the world is a such a cold, unforgiving place,"
"Yeah, and its going to get a lot worse if you don't shut up," Heather interrupted, trying to emphasise the point that she'd rather had silence than hear anything else, "even the dragons are quieter than you," The three dragons grumbled quietly, reacting to them being called upon, but they soon realised that nothing was needed from them, so they kept walking, not paying much attention to the conversations their riders were having on their backs. All of them just continued down the maze of weaponry, the twins not even trying to mask their awe of them, but eventually, the port came into view. Heather, as she was the one to take the lead, signalled for everyone to stop moving and the dragons automatically crouched down as low as they could to remain in the shadows. She took out her spyglass from her saddle bag and peered through it, getting a good close up of what the trappers were going. As of now, no dragons were anywhere near the ships, indicating to Heather that for now, they must be handling other business that didnt involve onloading dragons.
"Okay, it doesn't look like there are any dragons near those ships," Heather started, turning away from ships and the spyglass, so somewhere near here, "there must be a site where they have dragons ready to be onloaded onto the ships,"
"Do you think we will have a chance at freeing the dragons if we find that?" Astrid asked.
"It'll be a close call, but I think that if we do things right, and finish that job completely, then we should be able to do just that," she responded, "Alright. Ruff, Tuff, you two stay here," Heather said as she dismounted Windshear with her axe in her hand fully out.
