Astrid couldn't take her eyes off the now caged Night Fury and the stranger that was with it. Her teammates from the Berk Guard were being taken away to see Gothi; none of them were unconscious or too severely injured. Two had been slammed into a tree to they had to be checked for any broken bones and two had to have their burns tended to. Astrid would've charged towards the Night Fury with her axe straight after, leaving it no time for it to react, but Spitelout, Stoick, Gobber and a few other Vikings had gotten here before she had the chance.
"Hey, Astrid! What happened here?" Astrid looked back to see Fishlegs running up to her, panting while clutching his knees when he came to a halt in front of her.
"A dragon had been shot down," Astrid stepped aside so that Fishlegs could get a glimpse of the black dragon now viciously releasing low growls behind its shut mouth. Its thin eyes were glaring at everyone that was in the area with rage burning in its green eyes. The sight caused the large Viking to let out a gasp that caught the Night Fury's attention and flinched back as the intensity of the growl grew. It was almost like the dragon was warning him to back off.
"Oh, my Thor, it's a Night Fury. Oh, my Thor, it's a Night Fury-"
"Fishlegs, get it together," Astrid said, slapping her hand over Fishlegs' mouth to keep him to freaking out verbally, "Yes, the Night Fury is a sight, but that's not what the main issue is," Fishlegs looked at her and Astrid them knew he had calmed down, so she took her pulled her hand away.
"Go on,"
"There's a person along with the Night Fury. The dragon looked like it was protecting him, and it also has a saddle on it," Fishlegs wanted to look back at the dragon to see the saddle, but Spitelout and Gobber had already dragged it out of his sight.
"Was there really a saddle?" Fishlegs asked. Astrid nodded and he fell silent. Not because of shock and anger that someone would dare befriend a dragon, but because he was tracing his mind back to some old stories his parents used to tell him. He remembered listening to old tales about Dragon Riders from far away lands, one particular was about a girl who was kidnapped by dragons as a baby and was never seen again and she supposedly, lived in a place of myth. The point he was making was that after Hiccup's death, he had done a lot of searching of himself, and he discovered that he wasn't as against dragons as everyone else. He never really like to take a dragon's life, just because it may be trying to survive. Of course, this was something he had never told anyone, and never would either. So that fact that someone appeared to be riding a Night Fury was more fascinating than treacherous to him. But he didn't voice any of his thoughts.
Instead, he asked another question he had. "Why hasn't the Night Fury been killed yet? And what happened to the stranger?"
"Well, some others said that he had a freshly broken arm, most likely from the impact of hitting the ground. Stoick's decided to take him to the dungeons where he will be given some help for his arm, but then he'll be put on trial to explain why he was here and what connection did he have to the Night Fury,"
"But what about the dragon? Is it going to live or is someone going to kill it?"
"That, I don't know. Stoick's most likely going to kill it, but if he does decide to keep it alive, he'll keep it locked up and only let it out for training exercises," This made Fishlegs a little concerned. Mostly for the dragon than any training Vikings, which made him question his morals, but he didn't have too much of an idea of how the dragons were treated, so he couldn't help but be concerned. But he had to voice his worries for the future trainers, so he did.
"Do you really think it's the best to have use a Night Fury as a training dragon?" he asked, "they are known as one of the most powerful dragons known to man,"
