"we need to go to the library. now."
chan looked up from his phone to the black haired boy hovering above him. "the library?"
his best friend nodded enthusiastically. "yes," he repeated. "the district library."
moving further down in his seat, chan scoffs. the other student in the room looked completely serious, which amused him even more.
"wen junhui." his friend perked up at his name. "i didn't know you could read."
jun scowled as chan burst out laughing at his own joke. he swatted the younger boy's head-- mostly out of annoyance, but a bit of affection as well. chan was hard not to like. in jun's eyes he saw him as a younger brother, someone he took under his wing and was able to be himself around.
"be quiet. i'm not going there to read."
this made chan giggle even more. he wiped his tears away as he stood, smacking jun on the head. "what are you gonna do, playboy? pick up some girls?"
jun sighed dramatically. "chan, since when does anyone pick up girls at a library?"
"i don't know, maybe some nerd has a thing for stuff like that." chan gets up with a stretch of his arms, walking into the kitchen. jun follows him. typically, on school days, jun will stay at chan's house for the afternoon. or they'll go out and eat or something. they're usually broke though, so events like that don't happen often.
"never mind. i'll just go on my own." jun announces, sitting on the kitchen counter. he kicks his legs back and forth.
chan hums. "i never said i wouldn't go. i just don't know why you want to be a library of all places." he looks over at jun with a curious expression-- the tilt of his head makes him look like a puppy.
the black haired boy simply throws him a smile, grabbing the younger's arm and dragging him out of the house despite his protests.

jun pushes the wooden doors of the library open. chan yawns behind him, obviously uninterested. it's during the afternoon. a few students and adults are scattered around the building, scanning shelves for novels based on genre. his eyes automatically slide to the desk, and before he can meet the eyes of the cute librarian, he drags chan and himself behind a large bookshelf.
"dude, what are you-" jun covers the other boy's mouth as he gestures to the check out area. chan looks over to what he's referring to. he then begins to laugh into jun's hand. disgusted, jun removes his hand with a frown.
"i didn't know you were into librarians. damn, you really are a fuckboy." chan snickers, trying his best to muffle his laughter.
jun runs a hand through his jet black hair. "see, i kinda ran into him- like twice? i don't know. i just think he's kinda cute."
"well that was blunt." the younger mutters, moving his gaze from his best friend back over to the desk. "aren't librarians supposed to be all old and--"
another boy walks in from the backroom to the desk. he pats the cute librarian on the back and they begin to talk with smiles fitting their faces. the newcomer has gelled back brown locks, a petite frame, and eyes like a cat. jun looks over to chan and snorts when he catches him staring at the newest addition to the check out desk.
"woah, uh..." chan shakes his head, eyes still on the new boy. "suddenly, i love to read."
