Beep. Beep. Beep.

"Ugh." I groan. Time for hell, oh I mean my day.

I get out of bed and go to my closet. I pick my skinny jeans with my flowy white shirt and my jean vest with my gray ankle boots. I carry my clothes to my bathroom and hop in the shower. After my shower I get dressed and brush my teeth. I brush my hair and go back into my room.

I grab my keys and peek out my door to make sure the coast is clear. Once I see that no one is out there I make a run for the door. I rip it open and just as I'm stepping out, I get pulled back in by my hair and thrown on the floor.

"Where the hell do you think you're going?!" Greg yells.

"School." I whimper.

"No running in the house, you bitch!" He punches me in the stomach. "Do you understand?!"

"Yeah." I whisper cautiously.

"Don't sass me!" Two more punches.

"Sorry. I won't do it again."I say through tears.

"Yeah. Yeah. Get your ass out of here!" He kicks me in the stomach.

I jump up as fast as I can, which isn't very fast at all due to the beating I just got. And run to my car. I start it right away and drive to school.

(Time skip the drive.)

When I get to school I park by my boyfriend, Alex and walk inside, grabbing my bag out of the back seat. I leave it in here so that I don't have to carry it more than needed.

The first thing I do when I get in the school is go to the bathroom to check out my wounds. Bruises and small scratches cover my stomach. Once I see it I break down and cry.

I have been sitting on the floor crying for a while now and I think I might have missed first period but I don't care. My stomach hurts, my eyes hurt, from crying, my heart hurts. I am a mess. A hurt mess.

I finally stand up and walk out of the bathroom. I check the time and realize I'm supposed to be in second period, I haven't completely missed it. I run to my class and sneak in undetected.

Second period is History. No one likes history so everyone in this class is on their phones. Mrs. Hills must just be that dumb. She doesn't even suspect that anyone is on their phone, yet the entire class is.

I have just pulled my phone out when the bell rings. Thank god.

I walk out of class and to my locker. When I get to my locker, my friends and boyfriend are standing by it. "Hey, guys."I say as I approach them.

I wrap my arm around Alex and peck his lips. "How was your weekend?" I ask him as I get my books.

"It was alright. How about you?" He asks leaning against the locker next to mine.

"It was alright." I answer, closing my locker.

He puts his hands on my hips and pulls me toward him. "Good." He says as he kisses the side of my neck.

"No PDA." My friend Tracy says from behind me. I chuckle and turn around. Alex wraps his arm tightly around my stomach and pulls me so that my back is touching his front.

"Hello to you to. How was your weekend?" I ask.

"It was fine. Would have been better if you had come shopping with us but...Still it was ok." Elena, my other friend, says. We all chuckle. Except Alex, he tightens his arm on my stomach. I whimper, because he is hurting my bruises.

"What's wrong?" He whispers in my ear.

"Nothing. I'm fine." I say back.

"Come with me." He says grabbing my hand and pulling me outside.

Once we are hidden behind a wall he let's go of my hand. "Don't tell me your fine! You are not fine! What's wrong?!" He yells at me.

"Nothing. I'm fine. I just fell down the stairs this morning." I hope he believes me.

"Idiot. How could you fall down the stairs? Its not rocket science to walk down stairs." He "informs" me.

"I know. I tripped because I was running because I was going to be late. Which running didn't really help because I fell down the stairs then I just kept tripping over my feet all the way to my car. And I was still late so, moral of the story is running is not faster and I do not advise it." I keep lying to his face. Except about how I don't advise running it's dumb.

"Whatever. Just stop being a clutz." He snaps.

"Hey, do you happen to know why Elena said that I didn't go shopping with them? I didn't even know they went shopping." I wonder.

"She texted you but I told her no and deleted the messages." He explains.

Notice how he didn't even try to cover for himself.

"Why didn't you want me to go?" I ask confused.

He huffs out frustrated. "Because, your friends are a bad influence on you and I don't want you hanging out with them anymore." He says as if it's obvious.

"You don't ge-" He cuts me off with a smack to the face. "Don't tell me what I can and can't do, you ungrateful bitch!" He shouts then walks away.

I sit there for a while crying for the second time today, and its not even noon.

I sit and watch the cars pass by with tears rolling down my cheeks, thinking about how badly I want to get out of here and go to college. I can't wait.

"Hey are you ok?" Some guy asks. Breaking me out of my thoughts.

I whimper in fear of him, and curl up in the corner.

"It's ok. I won't hurt you." He coos coming and sitting next to me. "You're safe." Oddly enough that kind of made me feel a little bit better. But still I'm scared.

"What happened to your face? It's all red." Before I can come up with a lie to answer him with Alex walks out of the building.

Not noticing the boy sitting there Alex starts yelling at me. "Why weren't you in class?! And why are you still sitting out here?! Is it because I hurt your feelings?! Well guess what I don't care!" He walks over to me and jerks me to my feet by my hair.

"Alex." I very quietly whimper out, trying to tell, him about the boy who has been watching this whole thing take place. "Shut up!!" He yells in my face.

I have tears running down my face now.

"Umm. Excuse me? Alex I guess is your name?" The boy says. Getting Alex's attention. "Can I ask why you are so mad at her for being in pain that I'm guessing you probably caused?"

"What do you mean?" Alex smiles putting me back on my feet and pulling me into a hug. "I wouldn't hurt my sweet Ali. I was coming to make sure she was ok."

"Yeah right! I have the whole thing on video. You did not ask her if she was ok. You started yelling at her and pulling her hair out of her head." He calls Alex out on his bullshit. I like this guy.

"So Alex, let me write this out for you, I will be taking Ali to her class and you are going to leave her alone for the rest of your days and if you don't I will show this video to the police. Was the understandable?" The boy asks getting really close to Alex as if he is challenging him to argue.

"Fine." Alex snaps throwing me to the ground and walking away.

"Are you ok?" The boy asks kneeling down beside me.

"Yeah. I-I-I'm f-f-fine. Thanks." I stutter out.

"Ok let's get you inside." He starts to reach out to grab my hand. I pull away. "Can I help you up?" He asks. I nod.

He starts to help me up off the ground.

Once I'm on my feet I look at him. "Thank you for helping me." I say.

"No problem. Oh. My name is-" Before he can finish the bell cuts him off. "Let's go to class." He grabs my hand and we walk to class.
