"You've definitely gotten better," Gobber grins at me as he continues to throw knives my way in perfect aim. I dodge each one as I flip through two blades, reaching for the hilt I redirect the knife and give it a push. It comes right back to Gobber, shocked he drops his own daggers.

"A whole lot better," Hiccup smiled as he wrote something down.

It's been a week, and in this time I've gotten better with my combat training. I beat Eret in a spar and Astrid in archery. Hiccup and I battled in swords twice, the first time he won and the second time I was able to watch how he swung and the way he moved. I was able to discount his sword and shortly after I battled Gobber. He was strong but I was faster.

Astrid had left at least 4 times this week during lunch. It worried me, but I knew Astrid and what she could.

"Hey, Sapphire could you help me with the dragon book?" Hiccup asked me as we finished cleaning up.

I nod my head and follow him to the stone hall, fish and bread sat on a table in the far corner.

"Have you learn anything about the Toruk?" He pulls out his pencil.

"Yes, the Toruk is like any other dragon. It must physically bond with the host before they can be trusted," I answer as I get my own plate. I watch as his face brightens and it's the best thing in the entire world, Hiccup was and still is my best friend. From the beginning as we were kids and we played. The way he smiled and the face he had when he was concentrated man it was the best thing in the world to see him happy.

That all went down the drain when Astrid came into the picture. She moved to Berk when we were 4, for that past year Hiccup would spend most of our playing time watching her. Then when I turned five, well it wasn't easy but I did push him away. I knew it was for the best. Astrid was a wonderful girl, and we got along quite well, for that one year. Then when things changed, I spent most of my time either in the library or helping Gobber which is where Hiccup usually was.

"This is great!" He mumbled as he wrote more down.

"Yep," I mutter and open my own book, checking off the ax, bow, and arrows. I learned to use the Bow and Arrows separately, so I could defend myself with both.

I pulled my jacket close as the doors opened, and the wind rattled the room. Thunder shook the room, and I pulled my arms close, and scarf tight. It hasn't been this bad in a long time.

"Sapphire?" Astrid sat to my left nervously fidgeting. That's new.

"Yes?" I turn towards her to hear what she had to say.

"I know you like the rain, I found this really cool shaded area in the forest. You want to see it?" She questions as she tries to act casual. Don't get me wrong, I trust Astrid but there's something here and I'm curious.

"Ok," I answered uneasily.

"Great, come on," She smiles and stands.

"Bye Hiccup," She waves as I follow her taking my bow and arrows.

"How's your training?" She tries to start a conversation.

I only nod walking by her side. The rain beats down on our backs as I pull my hood close and my scarf around my mouth. I notice we're near the cove but we take a sharp turn left and we're nearing a cliff. It's right on the edge and it's the same place Rogue was given to me. It's obvious now.

"You're doing what you have to do," I mumble to Astrid as she sits on a rock.

She can't look me in the eye, "Yes," she answers her voice wavering only slightly.

"I understand," and now we're back to square one. I thought I was making some progress by talking to the others. It doesn't matter, I'll most likely be used to destroy them anyway. Might as well learn to hate them now. I never could, especially Hiccup. I tried so hard when his attention went to Astrid, and I tried to hate Astrid, but then again can you really hate a powerful and beautiful girl like her? She loves Hiccup, and I can't argue with love, especially if I don't understand it.

"I knew I could count on you, Astrid!" A voice sickening voice chuckled as rain sputtered everywhere from the wind.

I look up only to be met by a dragon.

A dragon I thought I lost.

"Rogue?"
