Chapter 16

Carlos jumped up and down as the music played. Jay laughed as he looked at Carlos, already loving the blonde more. Ben and Doug danced a goofy dance as Jane and Lonnie sang and jumped around with Carlos. Carlos turned around and wrapped his arms around Jay's waist then pulled him close. He wanted to hear Jay's heart.

"Having fun?" Jay asked.

Carlos smiled, "Duh! Because you're here with me."

Jay smiled as he wrapped his arms around Carlos. The band played a slow song as Doug and Ben left for drinks. Lonnie giggled as her Jane swayed slowly, singing with the band. Jay picked Carlos up and placed the blonde on his feet. Carlos giggled as Jay moved for them. He knew that Carlos couldn't dance to save his life. The last he attempted to dance he broke his arm.

He remembered that day was full of tears, yells and lots of candy.

Jay put his chin ontop of Carlos head. Carlos closed his eyes as he pressed his ear to Jay's chest, listening to heartbeat. He giggled as Jay placed his hands on the blondes waist. Carlos put his hands in Jay's back pockets. Jay kissed Carlos's curls. Carlos pulled away to look up at Jay, who raised his eyebrow at him.

"What's wrong?" Jay asked.

"Nothing, I just wanna see your face." Carlos replied.

Jay smirked, "Seriously? My face isn't that good looking."

"I literally made up the name Hottie of the Isle for a reason, Jay. You think I wouldn't make it up if I didn't think you are hot?"

"Wouldn't you?"

"Okay I would but! Right now, I wanna see your face. The lights make your skin glow."

Jay blushed, "Uh."

Carlos giggled as he leaned up to kiss Jay's cheek. Jay just made inhuman noises which only made Carlos smile more. The dance to the rest of the song as they took their drinks from Ben. The band went to take a break and the group decided to sit down on the blanket. A DJ came out to play her music and group started to talk.

"So how are you guys enjoying the show?" Ben asked the couple.

"It's awesome! Are all shows like this?" Carlos asked.

"Not all the time. Most bands have their own setlist and everything." Jane said.

Jay frowned, "So all the music isn't the same?"

Doug nodded, "Don't you guys have bands on the Isle?"

The boys shook their head. Doug looked over at Ben, with a confused face, while Ben just pressed his hands together. Jane and Lonnie gave the boys a sad look but Carlos raised his eyebrow. He didn't get why everyone looked at him like he's crazy, so what if the Isle didn't have any music. Ursula threatened to kill anyone who sang. Granted Carlos did hear Uma sang one time, she sounded great and she did threatened him to not tell anyone. Carlos finally reached for one of the bad of chips, he noticed Jay looking Doug with a sharp look.

"Man, no bands. I don't know if I could function." Doug said. "Could you guys atleast dance?"

"Yeah, you just had to be sure that Frollo doesn't catch ya. He hates dancing, thinks Esmeralda is coming back. Boy, does that get nasty when he catches ya." Jay said.

"I heard my mom talking about Frollo once. Did he really lust after Esmeralda?" Lonnie asked.

"Totally. He has posters and newspaper clippings of her." Carlos replied.

Lonnie gagged. Jane raised her eyebrow at Jay, wondering why he's glaring at Doug. She looked at Doug, who's talking with Lonnie, then back to Jay. Carlos leaned into Jay's side, munching on chips. Jay smiled as he wrapped his arm around his waist and pulled him close. Carlos offered him some chips.

"Want some?" Carlos asked.

"Nah, I'm good. I really need to take a leak though." Jay said.

"That's good to know." Lonnie said.

"Actually I have to get something from the snackbar. I'll walk with you." Ben said.

Jay nodded as he got up and walked with Ben. Carlos looked over at Doug, feeling his face turn slightly red. He still thinks that Doug is cute, not hot like Jay but cute. He liked his brown hair, the way he pushes up his glasses. Carlos couldn't get over the fact that Doug was there for him since Jay and Carlos had a fight.

"We'll be right back. Gotta use the bathroom." Jane said.

"Why do both you have to go?" Carlos asked.

"It's a girl thing." Lonnie said.

With that the girls got up to go to the bathroom. Doug laughed as he looked over at Carlos. He gave him a look that reads, girls right, then grabbed a bag of chips. Carlos pressed his lips together and looked at him. He gulped as he wiped his hands on his pants. Carloa cleared his throat making Doug look at him.

"Uh, Doug?" Carlos mumbled.

Doug looked at him.

"Can I tell you something?"

"Sure. Is relationship problems? 'Cause don't worry you and Jay will work it out, you guys are soul mates."

"Actually it's not about that. I kinda need to tell you something or otherwise it'll never leave my brain."

"Okay?"

"I actually think you cute and I may have a small crush on you. You was so nice to me when Jay ignored me and I haven't really felt this small crush for anyone, really. I just need to know . . . do you like me too?"

Carlos felt his entire face go red. Doug blinked as he nodded slowly, then everything processed. His eyes widened as he gave Carlos a sad smile. Carlos gulped as his heart broke a little. He should've known that Doug is head over heels for Evie, not Carlos. Doug put the chips down and made no effort to move closed to Carlos.

"Oh Carlos. I'm flattered but I only see you as a friend. I'm really sorry, and I hope that you won't be mad at me. You have to know that I love Evie as my other half. I only love you as a best friend, possibly even a brother." Doug said.

Carlos nodded. At first he felt upset but as soon Jay came up, he gave Jay a huge smile. Jay sat next to him and wrapped his arms around the blonde. Jay pressed his lips to Carlos' head, as Carlos giggled. Carlos didn't feel upset instead he felt reliefed. Carlos knows that his entire heatt belongs to Jay instead of a hopeless crush. He looked at Doug, who gave him a thumbs up, and talked to Ben. Carlos smiled as he looked up at Jay.

"Jay, I really really love you." Carlos said.

Jay smiled, "I love you too, Gorgeous. But why the sudden outburst?"

"Because, I know now that my entire heart is for you. Only you."

Jay kissed his forehead. Carlos smiled as he tucked his head on Jay's shoulder. Carlos finally feels his puppy heart complete.  Now all he has to do is to get Jay to like puppies. And Carlos has a plan for that.
