Carlos sighed as he paced around in Evie's room. Evie kept looking at her friend then back to her sketch for a new dress. Carlos didn't seem to realize that Evie keeps looking at him but he doesn't care. He is in chaos and doesn't know what to do.
He's used to doing things to make other people happy. He's used to taking orders from his mother. He's used giving up everything for someone. He is also still doing it today. He still doing things to make other people happy. He is also still doing giving up things for someone.
The only thing he isn't doing anymore is taking orders from his mother.
"Carlos? Do you want me to get you some tea? Or Mal to do some strange spell for you." Evie said.
Carlos shook his head, "No. I don't need any spells right now. Right now I need some help or someone to talk to."
"Okay then, spill the spell to me."
"Evie, I don't want to make anyone made or upset but I feel like I am."
"Are you talking about the spell that Jane put on you? Who's mad about that."
"No one! I don't want to make anyone upset by keeping this super cool power that I have now!"
"Carlos. Is someone bullying you? I'll knock some sense into them."
Carlos leaped forward to grab Evie, "No! No one is bullying me . . . it's Jay. I don't want him mad at me, I really really really like him. Like a lot, like love dovey kinda like. But if I made him upset by keeping this, then . . . then what will happen?"
Evie frowned as she look down at the blonde. Carlos has his arms wrapped around Evie and closed his eye. He didn't want to say anything else but he knows that Evie doesn't like that. She started to brush the knots from his hair, making Carlos feel a little bit more relax.
"He will still love you no matter what. He's head over heels for you, Carlos." Evie whispered.
"But he doesn't like me turning into a dog." Carlos replied.
"So you want to give that up? Carlos you love it don't you?"
"Yes, I do."
"Then Jay will too. It will take time but he'll come around."
Carlos smiled, "Thanks Evie."
"Anytime Carlos. You're my best friend."
"You was my first friend," Carlos said as he pulled apart with a smile. "Now, I guess I need to tell Jay?"
"Yes."
---
Carlos stared at his dorm door, after walking here with Evie, he asked her to walk away. Now here he is, standing there wondering if he should really go inside his room. He can hear Ben, Doug and Jay play a video game. He knows that Ben needed some stress relief, since being the new crowned king, but he really needs to talk to Jay.
Also if Carlos walks through the door, there's is no way he can hold it in. He doesn't even know how to fully mask what he is feeling. Jay can read through him like a open book and won't hestiate to ask him what's wrong. In a room full of people. And Carlos can't lie either, he may be a villain kid but he can't lie.
His mother taught him from early on about lying and what would happen if he did.
Carlos began to pace in front of the door. He chewed on his bottom lip and grabbed his hair. How is going to say something? How is he going to say that he wants to keep changing into a dog? How is going to keep Jay happy by having this? Why is having a crisis over this?
Carlos stopped as he looked down the hallway, the boys still playing loudly. He knows that he can't stay out here forever, Jay would get worried. He sighed as he opened the door, Jay turned around with a large smile. Carlos tried to match it but Jay caught it right away.
Jay pass his remote to Doug and walked towards Carlos. Carlos nodded, trying to figure out what to say but instead Jay hugged him. He wrapped his arms around him, closing his eyes. He wonders if Evie already called Jay and told him but he wasn't sure.
Right now, he should be hugging him.
"Are you alright?" Jay asked.
"Yeah," Carlos lied.
"Come on, Car. You can't lie."
"I know . . . Jay, can we talk. Alone?"
Jay pulled away with a short nod. Together the two walked outside of the dorm room. They closed the door behind them, but the two others boys didn't even noticed, and Carlos nodded again. He didn't know what to say now that they are alone. Jay pressed his lips together, scared of what Carlos might say, and kept their hands together.
Carlos sighed, "Jay. I love you, like a lot, and I would do anything for you. Jump in front of spells, fallen swords or dragons, I would do that. And I know that you would do the same but . . . but I can't give this up. I can't because I like this, I like turning into a dog and talking to Dude or running around," He smiled slightly. "This may make you hate me but I don't care. I'm keeping this."
"I could never hate you," Jay said as he pulled Carlos back in a hug. "If you want to keep this then okay. Just . . . just give me some time."
Carlos smiled as he nodded, "I love you, Jay."
"I love you too, Carlos," Jay said as he laughed. "I guess this is called puppy love?"
"What does that mean?"
"Everyone loves puppies, and you're technically a puppy. So, I guess I got the case of puppy love."
Carlos giggled as he pulled apart. He looked up and nodded, grabbing Jay's face. He brought it down and kissed the brunette. Jay smiled in the kiss then kissed back.
