Amnesia- Five Seconds of Summer
I drove by all the places we used to hang out getting wasted
I thought about our last kiss, how it felt the way you tasted
And even though your friends tell me you're doing fine
Roman sat outside the coffee shop. You'd met him there three years ago. You'd accidently spilt your coffee on him, completely your fault, but he had bought you another one despite your protests.
Are you somewhere feeling lonely even though he's right beside you?
When he says those words that hurt you, do you read the ones I wrote you?
"Roman, she's doing fine, she's moved on. Maybe it's time you do too." Indigo did softly hugging Roman and handing him the necklace he had given you, before walking away. "How?" Roman said quietly, attempting to hold in his tears.
Sometimes I start to wonder, was it just a lie?
If what we had was real, how could you be fine?
"I love you John." You giggled hugging your new boyfriend. Roman was outside the coffee shop again. And so were you. He watched as 'John' kissed your forehead and walked into the shop.
'Cause I'm not fine at all
He couldn't take it. Roman let it go. For the first time since the break up. He cried, he tried to call you, he broke. "How?"
I remember the day you told me you were leaving
I remember the make-up running down your face
And the dreams you left behind you didn't need them
Like every single wish we ever made
I wish that I could wake up with amnesia
And forget about the stupid little things
Like the way it felt to fall asleep next to you
And the memories I never can escape
"Roman, I'm sorry. But I can't do this anymore. Good bye." And with that you left, walking out of his life. That moment haunted him.
'Cause I'm not fine at all
Indigo invited you over to give Roman closure. It didn't work though. You and Roman laughed and talked for hours. Something sparked in you that you'd thought had completely dispersed.
The pictures that you sent me they're still living in my phone
I'll admit I like to see them, I'll admit I feel alone
And all my friends keep asking why I'm not around
You looked through your phone, pictures of Roman flooding your screen with every tap. A small smile graced your lips as you looked through them.
It hurts to know you're happy, yeah, it hurts that you've moved on
It's hard to hear your name when I haven't seen you in so long
You came across another picture, one posted from today. It was Roman... with someone else?
It's like we never happened, was it just a lie?
If what we had was real, how could you be fine?
"I love you Y/n." John said, kissing your cheek before going to work.
'Cause I'm not fine at all
"I can't believe you!" You cried, pushing john away from you as you exited his apartment. There was only one person you wanted to see.
I remember the day you told me you were leaving
I remember the make-up running down your face
And the dreams you left behind you didn't need them
Like every single wish we ever made
I wish that I could wake up with amnesia
And forget about the stupid little things
Like the way it felt to fall asleep next to you
And the memories I never can escape
"Roman!" You sobbed, as he opened the door. He immediately pulled you into his arms. He ran his fingers through your hair as he calmed you down.
If today I woke up with you right beside me
Like all of this was just some twisted dream
I'd hold you closer than I ever did before
And you'd never slip away
And you'd never hear me say
"Roman?" A sleepy voice called. You looked past him. The girl from the picture. "Who's this?" She asked. "An old friend, I'll be back soon okay?" Roman looked at the girl. The same look he used to give you. "Okay."
I remember the day you told me you were leaving
I remember the make-up running down your face
And the dreams you left behind you didn't need them
Like every single wish we ever made
I wish that I could wake up with amnesia
And forget about the stupid little things
Like the way it felt to fall asleep next to you
And the memories I never can escape
"I-I have to go." You said quietly, turning towards the door. "What's wrong Y/n?" Roman asked, you turned around. "I love you Roman!" You cried, before storming out of the house.
When he loved you most, you were gone, when you loved him most, he'd moved on.
'Cause I'm not fine at all
No, I'm really not fine at all
Tell me this is just a dream
'Cause I'm really not fine at all
