34. Virgil 1/2

"Virgil?" Someone questioned, he was snapped out of his memories.

She was all he had remembered so far.

He looked up at the man.

"Patton?" He questioned, hoping he had gotten the right name.

The cardigan wearing man nodded, approaching his devastated son.

"She's gone." Virgil mumbled looking down at the floor.

"I can't believe she's gone. Dad." He cried.

Patton, having never been called that before by Virgil, leaped from his seat, pulling his child into his chest.

"She'll never be forgotten, Patton spoke, voice shakey and cracking. "She'll forever live in our minds, our hearts, and our heads."

Virgil nodded looking up at his father figure.

"I want to remember everything dad. Everyone, everything, and every place I've ever been." Virgil sniffled. "Do you promise to tell me?"

"I promise."
_____________

How? No one she had spoken to had a clue.

One moment she was trapped in the hospital, people she loved mourning over her body.

The next, she was dead. But she didn't go to hell. Nor heaven.

Purgatory, she believed it was called.

But why?

It didn't matter if we're being honest, she wasn't there long.

The next thing she knew, she was crawling out of the ground.

Why?

She looked around at the trees, all of which seemed to be knocked over.

The area was familiar. How could she ever forget them?

"They buried me here." She smiled, tears dwelling in her eyes as she looked at the familiar forest around her.

Her smile faded as the question she'd only asked herself, slipped through her lips into the air around her.

"Why?"

"You weren't supposed to die." A voice behind you trembled.

They sounded as if they'd been crying.

She whipped around to face the being the voice belonged to.

"What?" She questioned the shaking man.

"You..." he trailed off. "You weren't supposed to die. Your husband wasn't supposed to get hurt. I tampered with the breaks in the wrong car."

What the hell?
(Me wondering where I'm going with this)

"That doesn't explain how I'm alive." She replied softly, hoping to calm the man so she could get a full answer.

The man calmed down slightly. "I sold m-"

The man didn't get to finish, as a woman appeared beside him. She had long blonde hair.

"Why?" Y/n muttered under her breath.

"He sold his soul to bring you back. You could at least thank him." The woman snickered.

"After he's the one that killed me and hurt Virgil, I think not." Y/n spat.
