{ didn't you love me? }

-

millie stared out the window of the limo, willing herself not to cry.

it's fine, millie.

she avoided every interview that finn would be at since early july, and now it was april again and now she had to see him.

season four. she sighed as she realized how far they had come. she smiled slightly as she remembered first meeting the other kids.

"h- hi. i'm millie." she smiled nervously at the other kids around her as they shook her hand.

"i'm finn." the freckled one caught her eye, and she smiled at him, feeling her nervousness wash away.

her heart thumped in her chest as she got out of the car and walked up to the door of the building.

you can do this, millie.

she opened the door, and there wasn't that many people there. she smiled as she saw gaten and natalia, and hugged them lightly, exchanging hellos.

the door opened, and millie's heart stopped as the curly haired boy entered the room.

they locked eye contact.

millie was shaking, her body frozen in place. her breathing was audible as she stared into finn's eyes.

he looked away, and millie felt tears well up in her eyes.

"i'll be right back," she muttered.

gaten nodded as she slipped away and down the hallway, holding back tears.

she bumped into david, who grinned at her. "hey millie! long time no see!" his smile dropped as he saw tears start falling down her face. "are you okay?"

she broke down, and he held her tightly to his chest as she cried.

"thank you," she sniffled as she pulled away. "i- don't - i'm having a hard time right now."

he smiled sadly. "with finn?"

millie's mouth fell open. "how did you know?"

he shrugged. "well, once we stopped filming and you stopped posting on the internet, and then finn confirmed you were broken up on that interview..."

millie winced as she remembered.

she sat alone in her bed, chewing on chips and watching netflix, when she got a text from sadie.

"i'm sorry."

she frowned and opened it up, seeing the attachment, an article titled "finn wolfhard publicly announces that 'fillie' is no longer a thing'. millie felt tears well up in her eyes, and started sobbing into her pillow as she watched the video from youtube of finn telling the whole world that they were over.

at least he wasn't mean.

"um... we aren't dating currently. we had some issues, and i'm not comfortable with talking about it right now."

she sighed and wiped her eyes. "we should probably get back."

they walked down the hallway, and millie avoided eye contact with finn, who was staring at her, as she walked over to greet sadie and noah, who had just arrived.

-

finn watched millie impatiently. she hadn't said anything to him at all yet.

"okay! everyone move out! apartment time. we're having the same arrangements as last year, but let's meet first thing tomorrow morning for the script run through, yeah? go team!"

everyone cheered and started filming out, millie immediately shot out the door, and finn grabbed her arm, pulling her back inside as hey were left alone.

"can i please talk to you millie?"

she sighed, sniffling a little as tears welled up in her eyes as they made eye contact.

"what do you want?" she hissed.

finn stared at her. "you can't just avoid me forever, millie."

she frowned. "i was doing a pretty good job of it. and why the hell do you care anyway? you left me. who are you with now? iris apatow? that girl from your band? what's her name-ayla?"

"shut up, millie! i swear to god! you can't even realize that i won't ever date someone else! did you really think that i would leave you forever?"

she stared at him in shock, ripping his hand off her arm. "yeah, actually. i did. you broke my heart, finn wolfhard."

she turned away and ran out the door, and he stared silently after her, his heart broken just as much as hers.

-

keep telling yourself.

finn smashed his head on the wall, anger fuming in his body.

he needed her back.

he missed her so much he was unstable.

he slipped onto the deck for some fresh air, feeling the night sky shine down on him.

he shut the door, so that it was dark on his deck, and he sat in silence, wondering why the hell he did this.

he jumped as millie's door opened, and she left it open, the light spilling onto her figure as she sobbed. she leaned against the side of the deck, tears spilling down her face and she choked on them, then screamed, banging her fist on the wall, sinking to the floor as her sobs grew louder, and she started muttering words to herself.

he stood there in silence, hidden in the shadows, watching the love of his life cry.

"i'm - not - stupid," she choked on her words.

he stared at her, worry filling his body. he couldn't talk to her. she didn't want to talk to him.

she stopped crying, staring into the night sky, shakily standing up. "i'm not stupid." she announced out loud, then flipped around and stormed back into her apartment, slamming the door behind her.

finn stared after her, regretting not saying something.

he needed her back.
