{ i don't know. it's like... fuzzies. }

-

millie started at the wall of her hospital room. when would they let her out?

she wasn't crazy. she could remember.

her counselor tried to talk to her, and so did her mom. finn hadn't been able to come back.

a round of shock hit her hard and her vision blurred, she heard a voice.

"i'll see you again."

"promise?"

"promise."

she saw finn, tears stained on his cheeks, outlined in black, her vision burring.

she blinked it away, feeling it settle into her memory. she remembered it. but when? why? she couldn't remember.

"what do you see?" her counselor asked.

millie was confused. "i don't know... it's like... fuzzies."

her counselor was confused too. "fuzzies?"

millie nodded. "when can i be released?"

the lady sighed. "soon, millie. in good time. we have to check some thing. filming has been put on hold for you, until they figure things out."

millie sighed. "okay..."

the lady left, and millie stared at the wall again, hearing a loud noise and she turned to see her window slide open, finn climbing inside, a triumphant look on his face.

her vision went blurry again, and she remembered.

finn was climbing through the window.

"what are you doing here?" she had asked.

"you said to come over and run lines!" He widened his eyes playfully and she giggled.

"that's not what you had in mind..." she whispered.

"hey, don't blow my cover!" he teased.

millie remembered this. how? when? they looked so happy. she felt so happy. she couldn't remember when this was.

they were singing together.

millie felt happiness fill her body as she remembered this moment.

she blinked herself back into the present, where the same boy was standing in front of her.

"hey," he managed, his eyes searching hers, his hair a mess, his fingers bleeding from being bitten.

"hey..." she whispered, staring back, twisting her hands underneath the covers widely, remembering several memories of them, not knowing how they happened.

"mind if i stay?" finn asked.

she nodded, and scooted over, patting the bed next to her, and he smiled as he sat.

"do you - remember anything?" he mumbled, his voice breaking.

millie nodded her head slowly, and his eyes lit up. "some things. i don't know when they were, or how. things we did. once you snuck in my window. times you made me cry. and - that red headed girl. sometimes i see her. i don't know who she is, but i would say her name - sadie, i think - and we were close. weren't we?"

finn nodded, his eyes swimming with tears as he took her hand. "millie... you forgot so much. so so much. your whole life has become a reality to you in the last couple years. millie... i love you. and you- you can't remember that."

millie stared at him in confusion. "right... we became close? best friends."

finn shook his head slowly. "no... not best friends. more like - like..."

suddenly and swiftly he moved and pressed his lips against hers.

millie sat in shock as his lips melted into hers, and she didn't resist it.

her mind went fuzzy again.

"i love you millie bobby brown."

he was kissing her.

he pulled away, breathless, as memories of him kissing her flooded her head.

"remember anything?" he asked hopefully.

millie stared at him, memories of them flooding her head. she couldn't remember much, but she knew they were together. at some point, at least.

"yes," she choked out.

"millie, i am so so sorry for what i did. and you can't remember. and you also can't remember you forgiving me, but you did. and then..." he frowned as he gestured around the room, gripping her hand with his other hand.

"it couldn't have been that bad," millie managed. "i can remember how happy we were. nothing could have seriously changed that, right?"

finn sighed. "well-,"

the door opened, and security guards rushed in, grabbing finn.

"NO! FINN!" millie tried to leap out of bed, but they held her down.

"i have a surprise for you! it's coming today! millie, you can't remember, but i love you so so much. more then you could ever imagine..." he voice trailed off as they dragged him down the hallway, and millie's heart broke.

she remembered being happy. and if she was happy, that meant he was too. and she needed him to be happy. if what he said was true, they needed each other.

and millie was determined to remember. not just the good parts. everything.

-

the door opened again, and millie turned her tired eyes on the figure in the doorway.

they widened, and she jumped out of the bed, rubbing them furiously. "oh, my god. this cannot be happening. he was telling the truth!"

maddie laughed as she watched millie's reaction. "hey mills. i know you can't remember me, but i definitely remember you. and I'm so so sorry. and i love you!"

millie hugged the girl, her heart doing jumping jacks around in her chest.

"i would say nice to meet you, but-," millie gasped as another memory hit her.

millie exited the bathroom with a girly screech, wearing a cheerleading costume.

maddie fell over on the bed, she was laughing so hard. "oh my god, millie!"

she blinked her eyes as the memory settled into her and she smiled.

"oh!" maddie smiled. "i brought someone else..."

she stepped back, and another girl stepped grinning into the room.

"you don't know me... but i'm lilia."

"h-hi." millie's heart was racing. this was all too much.

"millie, i'm so so sorry. but... we're still your friends. and if you ever need us, tell me."

millie nodded, her eyes brimming with tears.

she wanted to remember everything.

more then anything.
