millie woke, stretching her arms above her with a yawn, feeling like crap. she was tired and not feeling very good.

she glanced over at the empty spot next to her, and a shiver ran through her as she remembered what happened the night before.

she rolled onto her side, leaning her head on his hand, glancing up when she heard finn's voice, coming from the bathroom, singing in the shower.

she smiled slightly as she listened to him singing a song his band had written.

"when i walk around my room, there is... nothing else to say..."

she wriggled further in the covers and closed her eyes, the smile staying on her lips as she listened to him sing.

"i am a city boy,"

"you are a city girl..." millie sang softly into the pillow, knowing the words, having heard the song many times.

the shower stopped, and the door opened, and millie closed her eyes as finn came into view, just a towel wrapped around his waist.

she heard him humming as he moved around, and her heart thumped. she shouldn't be too embarrassed to look at him, the night before she had seen him without his shirt on.

she opened her eyes slowly, and finn was around the corner. she made a small noise to tell him she was awake, and he walked around the side of the bed, buckling up his belt.

"hey," he said.

millie's cheeks were red, she couldn't stop thinking about last night. "uh... hey."

his eyes moved to her neck, and his face turned a little red also, and she immediately clapped her hand against it, her heart thumping.

"i'm gonna-," she stumbled, pulling the covers back.

"yeah, i'll meet you outside..." he mumbled as she slipped inside the bathroom.

she sat down on the ground, closing her eyes and wrapping her arms around her legs, sighing deeply as she heard the music pulsing from the other room.

god, why is it so awkward? we're all teenagers! we're not little kids...

she sat up, turning on the shower and shaking out her hair, which had grown even longer. she stared at it for a second. she wanted to cut it.

she climbed into the shower, letting the water fall off her body as she relaxed.

she carefully rubbed her hand over her neck, shivering as she remembered finn's lips there.

maybe it was because they hadn't been together for so long. they weren't used to each other, and they'd moved so fast it made it awkward.

millie finished her shower and did her hair and makeup, heading into the other room to put on her clothes, relived to see finn was already gone, probably packing the car.

she got dressed quickly, and then packed her stuff and headed out, skipping down the stairs and out to the car, finn glanced over at her, and her face turned red.

she stumbled over her words. "here's my bag- i'm sorry, um."

he opened his mouth to say something, but just then the other kids caught up to them, sadie letting out a shrill giggle when she spotted the marks on millie's neck.

"looks like you guys had a good time last night, huh?" she chirped, laughing with noah.

the other two boys didn't say anything, and gaten shot her a look that said, "i'm sorry," and millie's cheeks turned even redder as she realized finn must have told them what happened.

"well, let's get going," caleb said.

finn climbed into the front seat, and millie hesitated before saying, "hey, gaten, wanna take a turn in the front? i wanna ride with sadie."

sadie looked confused, but gaten nodded in understanding and climbed in, and finn shot millie a look as she climbed into the back of be car, and sadie slid in next to her.

"what happened?" sadie whispered, when the music had been turned on and they were on the road.

"oh god," millie put her face in her hands. "it's just so awkward, now... god." she glanced up at sadie, lowering her voice so the others wouldn't hear.

"we almost- you know," she started, and sadie's mouth fell open.

"and you didn't?! what happened?" she asked, talking a little too loud, and millie's cheeks burned as finn glanced back at them, a knowing look on his face.

"because... i'm not ready for that," she whispered, her words barely being heard, she was trying to be very quiet.

"oh, millie." sadie hugged her, and millie instantly felt better. "it's okay, i wasn't at first either."

millie raised an eyebrow. "what do you mean, at first?"

now sadie's cheeks were bright red. millie saw her eyes shoot towards the front of the car, and her mouth fell open. "DID YOU AND C-,"

sadie slapped a hand over millie's mouth to muffle her scream.

caleb didn't move, but he was frozen, knowing exactly what they were talking about.

millie's eyes were huge, because sadie and caleb never made their relationship public, even most friends didn't know about it. millie and finn both did, and noah and gaten probably also did.

sadie slowly removed her hand over millie's mouth, and coughed awkwardly, forcing out a smile.

"so, where to today?"

-

millie opened her eyes, and rubbed them gently. she yawned, still tired from her nap.

she glanced around the car. "where the hell is everyone?" she muttered.

finn poked his head up from the front seat. "i'm here."

"oh. hi." she muttered, climbing up and sitting in the front next to him, worry plastered across her face.

"look, millie," he said at the same time she said, "finn, please,"

"sorry. you go ahead." she whispered, glancing up at him.

"millie, i'm so sorry. we- i- never should've initiated that, and i really don't want this to mess us up."

millie smiled nervously. "me neither. and i'm sorry too. can we just- hi."

they both laughed nervously.

"yes. hi. um. millie bobby brown, will you be my girlfriend? again?"

she let out a shrill giggle, and pressed her lips against his, letting them linger there for a minute. he cupped her face in his hand, and they stayed like that until sadie flung the back door open.

"oh, thank god. you scared me. are you finally back together?" she asked.

"yes." millie said, and finn's eyes shone as he pressed their lips together again.
