Waiting For The End
Lilliana's heart felt as though it was going to break into a million different pieces. It had been around a week and a half since Lilliana had poured her heart out to Maribel, even though it had felt like months. The days dragged on as Lilliana continuously checked her phone to see that, once again, Maribel had not texted her. She started to wonder if her best friend was going to ignore her forever.
With what Lilliana did, she wouldn't blame Maribel if she did choose to ignore her forever. Lilliana crossed a line and there was no going back. She came not only between her relationship with Maribel, but also between Maribel's relationship with Gracie. She felt horrible. She felt like the smallest person alive and she just wanted to get away, even if it was just for a small amount of time.
So that's what she did. That weekend, she packed a small bag and drove off to her family's house, where she spent the entire weekend holed up in her room, still awaiting a text, call, or even just a snapchat from Maribel. Unfortunately, she always got nothing. Only a text from from her mother every once in awhile telling her to come down for some food.
Sunday evening, Lilliana spent the night in her older sister, Natalie's, room, crying her eyes out and telling her older sister the whole story, from the moment she realized she likes Maribel as more than a friend to the moment she blurted it out to her best friend. Natalie just listened on as her little sister cried into her lap, running her fingers through Lilliana's hair every once in awhile to calm her down.
"I feel so stupid, Nati," Lilliana said, her voice hoarse from the intense crying she had just done. "I can't believe I ruined it all. I ruined it all for nothing."
"How do you know that, Lils?" Natalie asked in a soft voice, doing her best to calm down her little sister.
"Oh, come on. There's no way she would ever like me back after what I did, let alone leave her girlfriend for me."
"How do you know for sure? Have you talked to her about it?" Natalie was met with silence. "Exactly, Lils. You can't just sit around waiting for the end of your relationship with her. You need to take charge and sit her down and get everything all out in the open before it explodes in both of your faces."
"But what if I lose her forever?" Lilliana asked in a quiet voice, the possibility alone scared her to her very soul.
"Well, that's a risk you're just going to have to be willing to take. You can either talk to her about this and risk losing her forever or ignore her completely and basically ruin your friendship with her."
Lilliana stayed quiet. She knew that her older sister was right, she just didn't want to go through with either one of those options. But she knew what she had to do. She did have to talk to Maribel before everything got worse. Lilliana just didn't know how to do that exactly. All she wanted was for Maribel to be happy, and she just had to be okay with the fact that it might not be with her.
this is a very small filler chapter but i hope you enjoy it :)
