Yeah I'm Sick of Losing Soulmates
Maribel's eyes flutter open as the morning sunlight streams in through Gracie's thin curtains. She looks over to her sleeping girlfriend and smiles. She could get used to waking up to this every morning. Maribel stared at the peaceful girl next to her and swore she could do that forever. The idea of spending the day just lounging around in bed with Gracie was almost too tempting. She had to force herself to remember that she couldn't do that and that she should be productive.
Maribel suddenly remembers all of the events last night that happened with Lilliana. She grabbed her phone from the bedside table and checked to see that if there were any messages from her best friend. Seeing that there were none, she sighed and put her phone back down. She swung her legs over the edge of the bed and let her bare feet touch the cold floor. She stretches her arms and notices that her shifting has woken up Gracie.
"Good morning," Maribel says, smiling down at her barely awake girlfriend. "I'll be right back, I'm just going to go wash up."
Gracie nods and snuggles back into her pillow. Maribel heads into the bathroom and, while brushing her teeth, contemplates everything that had happened the night before. She worried that Lilliana was all alone, just stewing in her own depression while waiting around for Aiden to call. Little did she know, Lilliana was actually waiting for Maribel to call.
Maribel finishes up and heads back to Gracie's room, crawling right back into bed and letting Gracie attach herself onto her torso. Maribel grabs her phone from the bedside table and decides to text Lilliana a quick good morning, wanting to make sure that she was doing okay. She puts her phone down and snuggles back into Gracie, both of them falling back asleep and getting ready to waste the day away.
When they awake hours later, both feeling relaxed and happy considering the fact that they slept for half the day, Gracie and Maribel decide to have a little outing. So they adventure out into the cold outside and decide to just go to the mall. They had a lovely time together, spending way more than they should have, and they really just felt comfortable around each other despite the fact that they've only known each other for a very short time.
Their shopping spree was cut short when Maribel's ringtone went off. She pulled out her phone and saw that it was Lilliana calling her. It had been a good nine hours since Maribel had texted her, so it was about time.
"Hang on," Maribel said, kissing her girlfriend's cheek before pulling their intertwined hands apart. "It's Lilliana. I just want to make sure that she's okay." She answers the phone. "Hey, Lilliana. What's up?"
"Hi," a small voice came from the other end. Maribel immediately knew that something was up. "Sorry, I haven't been feeling the best all day."
Maribel was concerned. "Why? What's wrong?" Maribel's head ran through all the things that could result in Lilliana being horribly sick, and there was only one possible solution. "Did you get drunk last night?"
Lilliana was silent.
"Lilliana," Maribel said in a strict, motherly voice that she often possessed when she was around her best friend.
"Okay, fine! Yes, I did get drunk last night," Lilliana replied. Maribel sighed. She knew that her best friend had the drinking capacity of a six year old. She was an extreme lightweight and knew it, which is why she rarely got drunk.
"What time should I be there?" Maribel asked, already knowing that Lilliana was going to ask her to come over.
On the other end, Lilliana was smiling. She loved that her best friend knew her too well. "In thirty minutes?"
